Most original Twilight Zone episodes were 30 minutes but a few of them were an hour. Both of these stories should have been a half hour.

Biggest problem with the 2016 Ghostbusters is it was a complete reboot. They could have had almost the same story but kept them in the same universe of the first two movies.
