The judge was probably paid off. It would be eye opening to see what sentences he gave to other convicted rapists. As someone posted above, he let another Stanford alumni off easy.

Good point. We only know he did not get caught in the past. This could have been his 4th rape. He knew to hide behind the dumpster.

Lack of a record should only matter in a rape case if guilt is uncertain. For this case, it was certain. They should have thrown the book at him.

How did she get behind the dumpster? What woman would go back there? I think he carried her back there. That proves he knew she was unconscious. Instead of taking the blame, he shifts it to all the law abiding men who drink without raping. Do you think the judge was paid off?
