Yeah, short of the ability to install directly from the browser, Appbrain is still superior from a navigation, usability, and straight up options standpoint. Had Google not disabled direct downloads via Appbrain's "Fast Web Installer" with the 2.12 version of the Android Market then I'd say that it's still the

@M-Tek: Right?... I've been forced to fork out for Wireless Wii Retro Controllers in their place instead paired to a Wii controller app on my Androids up until now. It would have been nice to be able to use my existing PS3 controllers instead all along. Here's to hoping Sony sees the value in this and releases such a

@M-Tek: Right?... I've been forced until now to fork out for Wireless Wii Retro Controllers and use a accompanying Wii Controller app on my Androids. It would have been nice to be able to use my existing PS3 controllers up until now...

@Stiggers: Seconded to all above...

@CGVega: Why settle on a PSPhone?... Especially if the reported Specs turn out to be true, making it a middle of the road device with the release of Dual Core phones like the bionic and Atrix just around the corner?... If Sony's licensing this to other manufacturers, then why not wait for a better manufacturer (IMO)

@jm9843: OR, you could just buy a DualShock 3?.... Maybe they'll finally make it so you can pair it with the accompanying Playstation Suite on whatever device?...

Illustration credit?.. whatever the case, love it! It's a great intuitive illustration for the article! I'm So psyched to see a blog like gizmodo hiring and supporting illustrators to do accompanying illustrations for it's various articles. It really shows how much blogs and other digital media have come insofar to

@ohnoitsaspider: Well, maybe because it's actually good? Oh, and it has a multi-touch capacitive screen. Hope that helps you out. Whatever the case the touch response is pretty good on my Archos 70 (not as good as the touch response I get from my HTC EVO mind you, but good none the less).

@Tafka Wac: Yes, but it's really hit or miss. I can get porn videos to play about half the time. Other than that Youtube is pretty decent, but ultimately better using the dedicated app. It would seem that I too am waiting for the official release.

@jabber: I bought a CaseCrown Neoprene Skin Velcro Top Flip Sleeve with Additional Pocket (Black) from Amazon for $9 linked here (for $7 now no doubt a few weeks later!):

@Maruko: That's just mean... :[

@jitteryjim: BTW, I've read online that those aren't coming until March...

@Johnny Banks: Yeah, in between this and Plants vs Zombies I'm dying. These apps are all I need to complete my contemporary smartphone experience...

I've had my Archos 70 (the 8GB Flash version) for a close to a month now. I'd been looking for a pocketable/7inch all in one convergence device that I could use in place of my 2 1/2 year old $3k MacBook Pro for lite computing and media consumption for under $300 while on the road for the last few months (it was

@RuckingFetard: I thought I'd dislike it as well, but I actually really like it now.

@9999boola: Yeah, I've had the 70 internet tablet for close to a month now, and in that time they've released 2 updates the last bringing Froyo and inbuilt processor control! I'm really enjoying my tablet insofar!

@Beardstorming: Actually, Archos just released a dual boot ROM for these a few days ago... Soooo you can actually run Android IN ADDITION to several flavors of Linux and Meego if your heart so desires.
