The point isn’t whether Billie Eilish will be fine or not but why there was never any article about Tyler the Creator’s anti-Asian slurs. The last AVClub article about him was from this same write and no mention of that issue.

Personally I think it should be “Latin-equis”

Nobody is asking her to walk back what she said but her response was basically “Yea you fucked up” and that’s it. I have noticed that a lot of her writing is basically shitting on Latinx / Hispanics so I guess this is on brand for her anyway.

Criticism is warranted but the level of venom in some of the responses (not talking about Felice Leon here btw) was excessive.

Good question, especially given the significance of the film to the community, I was definitely surprised that they didn’t find a Hispanic / Latinx director.

But would we really be surprised if somebody wrote something about why they could not find a Latinx director for a movie that is definitely a moment for the community?
