Generally it should prompt you to accept the certificate... companies can do it because they have administrative rights to your computer. Starbucks’ doesn’t.

Pen-testing a home setup is going to be tricky... as a home-user, you’re probably not legally entitled to test against your infrastructure. Before you start any of that kind of work, have a lawyer review your contract with your cable provider.

The fundamental point that everyone misses: Certifications aren’t about effectiveness, they’re signals (in the economic sense) that you are interested in a domain and have put in enough work within that domain to pass a test of basic competence.
