I dont mean to imply that platinum = greatness (look at all the country music, American Idol BS that sells a trillion copies), but saying the Stones lost it after the 70's was just a bad comparison.

You're comparing Weezer's discography to the Stones?! The Stones have had every album go Platinum since your late 70's cutoff. Some years multi-platinum.

Indeed - I'm not sure Weezer has even been that great outside of the Blue Album. Although yesterday's inventory would seem to argue otherwise.

No comment on Piven's spelling?
Amelie made a nice subtle mention of it, but I thought another commenter would get this thread started. I refuse to believe that Piven made a typo - I want to believe he really is that dumb.

I'm just saying that there are probably just as many examples of movies with multiple cast interviews that get good reviews as interviews with cast members whose movies get panned.

I do believe the AVC just did 2 separate interviews on District 9, then gave it a B+.

RIP indeed. I hope that he gets more respect, honors, recognition and media attention than Michael Jackson's death did. Sure, MJ did incredible things for POP music, but Les Paul did incredible things for MUSIC.

Exhibit at Milwaukee's Discovery World Museum
If you're ever in Milwaukee - check out the exhibit while it's still around. It is pretty incredible. It runs through the end of the year and honors everything that Les Paul did for music. Which is a pretty daunting task.

I'm staying away from this article until I see the movie. I am very excited by D9 and am avoiding spoilers like the plague.

Really bad strawberry aftertaste
The twinkies have a far worse aftertaste than the Ho-ho's. They leave a nasty fake strawberry film on the back of your mouth. No good.

ESPN's "Insider" pisses me off like nothing else.

Rex Reed is a waste. Anyone that considers him a reliable critic is as dumb as he is. Not to mention as a writer he's a complete hack.
