Many budget airlines (surprised UA is on your list) have “pre-reclined” seats.  Essentially it has the seats just slightly less upright and no manual reclining option.  This allows them to “safely” squeeze more rows of seats on the plane also at the cost of your legroom.

Well if you have the cash to buy a car in cash, you should actually finance the car and invest the cash. Otherwise you’re taking a sunk cost on the car which is a depreciating asset while you could have invested the cash at a higher return rate than interest rate of a car loan and actually made some money. ;)

“some credit criminal does a 72 month loan at 8%” probably shouldn’t have bought the car to start off with, they likely couldn’t afford it.

The idea behind keeping past the loan date is that once the loan is paid off, the cost/mile decreases at a faster rate with a paid off car as you’re no longer paying interest.
