If part 5 is just following Clancy Brown around whilst he wears a succession of really cool hats then I’m on board with that.

We have a culture? Where did we steal it from?

In all seriousness though, I know it is no one man’s duty to apologize for an entire race, but really, I am sorry for all of the lunacy. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and moved into the city years ago, and I don’t even recognize the people in my home town anymore.

Can you imagine if his ‘apology’ had been followed up with “So I didn’t mean to say it, but I meant what I said”.   That would have been honest at least.

This must be the first time anyone on The Root has quoted James McMurtry.

Yep, it was going to be an “all-American Mom” replicant named Mary. They got as far as casting Stacey Nelkin in the role, but none of her scenes were filmed.

I remember Jeff Bridges did a Scudder movie with Rosanna Arquette. The only thing that stuck with me is she threw up on him while giving him a BJ.

How have they been allowed to continue their BS smear campaigns? I forgot all about them when they got cold busted a couple years ago. They’re terrible with covering up their tracks.

All chaps are assless , because otherwise they would be pants.

I’d like to high-five you while sobbing. I live down by Wash Park / South Pearl. Big chunks of that street are literally unrecognizable now from 10 years ago, when I have family photos showing it had barely changed at all in the previous hundred.

Is it dusty in here or is it just me? This made me have the chills. Thanks for sharing.

I hope it’s OK if I share this—I believe it’s something people should hear. But if you say don’t, I won’t--let me know.

What a great story. Thanks for the positive spin.

Well, underrated  by the public at large, anyway, but not drummers.  Stewart Copeland & Neil Peart are the reason why I have a TAMA kit.

Holy shit. Thanks for sharing that. Elsewhere here I posted that Permanent Waves & Moving Pictures changed my life, but nothing like this. Ghost Rider is indeed a great book, & should be assigned reading for anybody trying to cope with loss. I recorded one passage in particular, that I think Peart really nailed:

Some

Ghost Rider, heartbreaking as it is, damn good book,

It’s worth a click on Trashcan’s tweet, there are many excellent replies.

Hey, I think you’d find this youtube channel interesting. They’re very friendly too.
