Yes, it’s now a world of CSWs (chunky station wagons) and we simply exist in it.  How “wonderful”.

I used to go to this place in Atlanta, and if you know it, you know it. It’s called Jack’s Pizza and Wings, right there off Highland. It’s a dive bar that serves pizza and wings, and also super cheap beer. Back in 2009, they were still serving $1 pints of “Old 4th Ward” which I’m pretty sure was just Miller.

... and nobody would buy it because its nooot an SUUUUVEEEEEEE so it doesn’t make me feel free and safe and whatever the fuck SUV buyers justify their vehicular assholery against themselves with.

To me the NSU Ro80 is one of those handful of cars that was so ahead of its time it could be sold again today without changing a single design element. Not only would it look completely contemporary, it would make the competition stand out for exactly what it is, overwrought and discordant with absolutely no thought

Yup. That is correct. I kinda kicked around the idea of buying one of these with a stick, but with only 260 hp, it just wasn’t as fast of a car as i wanted. Instead I chose to live in constant anticipatory terror of the day my BMW inevitably breaks down. But until then i’ll have power AND an honest to god stick shift

As a person who until very recently owned a B4 Passat GLX wagon with a VR6 with a 5spd manual, I call shenanigans. I loved having a fully optioned, “executive class” vehicle with a throaty 6cyl engine and a row your own gearbox. Sadly when it came time to replace this car, absolutely nothing like it was available in

Ok, as one of the few people on here who actually attempted to buy one of these, this is what happened in my case. I went in, and said I wanted a G70 Manual in any color other than black (My current car is black and absolute pain to keep from getting covered with dust.) The sales guy checked the inventory. The only

Idiotic Genesis. There were only dozens of us interested because YOU DIDNT GIVE THE TOP TRIM / ENGINE THE MANUAL. Only the base model got the manual. The poverty spec. THAT is why only dozens were interested. You COULD have had a 335 or S4 rival and it could have been really something, perhaps a big sales success.

Found the guy who can’t drive a stick!

It’s a textbook OE play. Offer the MT, but not in all trims or with all engines (and normally only with the shittier of the choices). No one buys it. Then shrug shoulders and say - well that take rate is terrible, that was dumb, we won’t do that again.

COVID traffic (meaning very little) has been friendly to the manual.

It’s all relative. I basically daily drove a heads/cam C5 Z06 for 3/4 of the year, most of it in stop and go traffic. Big heavy clutch, finessing to get it going because of the cam. It didn’t bother me at all. I now daily a 500 Abarth in manual, and it still doesn’t bother me.

BaT evolved though. It used to be a site to find weird project cars for a good price. Once upon a time you’d need the trailer to transport your project car home. Now you bring the trailer to avoid adding miles to the pristine collector car you overpaid for.

It will be around, but fewer and fewer will come to market, for sure.

Just to make sure we cover the bases, I’m pasting the standard comment whenever a Legend is posted on any auto website:

I don’t know how to vote here. $4700 is too much, so it should be Crack Pipe, but the ad now says $3200, so the seller agreed that $4700 was too much.

People saw that Top Gear episode and let them get in their heads. Thus the 'not proper'

I love the 3 lug wheels? I like the minimalism.

Why? I’ve got a car with three stud wheels and they’ve yet to fall off.

In the past 20 years I’ve owned 4 Le Cars, and they’ve all been extremely reliable, and I never had much trouble finding parts. Go figure. They built millions of them.
