Just another reason that our laws and justice system are so bad... Laws should be about keeping people safe, they should be a benefit to the people as a whole. What they should never be? I form of profit stream. A government should not profit from its people.

While it is difficult sometimes to see the sarcasm in a person's internet posting... I think its a fairly safe assumption that this guy's post was pure sarcasm. I'll also point out that a bit of this posting was also sarcasm.

While cops aren't paid to perform miracles like holding back floods and magically putting out fires, they are paid to contain threats to society. People that rob stores are a threat to society.

putting out a fire with your hands, parting the seas like moses etc, yes - that's exactly the same thing as dealing with a robber.

I come here to hopefully read tech blogs on gizmodo.. some of the stories are pretty good but for every one there are at least 50 pure click-bait driven stories by fake journalists.

You know what i find funny about this.. in a sad way that is - Black people aren't the only ones that are murdered by police officers, white people are as well. The only difference? It doesn't end up on fox news because nobody cares, people don't riot, people don't burn down neighborhoods.
