@rimshot09: There are plenty of Pokémon that you can't get legitimately in game, though, which is frustrating beyond belief. I had never cheated in a game before playing Pokémon for the first time, but after about a month, I bought a GameShark so I could actually get all the little bastards without having to own two

I got a bunch of games in 2010, but the only one I've beaten is Halo: Reach. The majority of my games are either for my iPod Touch or part of the Indie Bundle, though, which is why I haven't beaten them. Not much story to speak of to keep me playing for more than a few minutes at a time. And I don't feel bad for not

@kon324: They aren't hardcore games, true, but they are still games. A game is nothing more than an activity with rules for the purpose of entertainment.

@Kobun: That's probably the biggest reason I lose, or at least don't win. It's counter-intuitive to only be able to win by first setting up an attack, rather than executing an attack.

@trunkenmath: You can't win in chess unless you put the opposing player in check first. If you don't have them in check, but you corner them into some place that the only moves they have left would put themselves into check, then it's a draw, and the game ends in stalemate instead of a victory. It's one of the

@trunkenmath: I know exactly how deep and complex chess is, I'm simply rubbish at actually playing. I can't plan moves in advance or keep track in my head of all the different moves that can be made, things like that. I prefer games that aren't as directly competitive, like Catan, where you can make deals and plan

I can't wait for the 3DS Lite or whatever the updated version will be called to come out. Because then the original will be discounted and I just might be able to afford it at that point. I'm super excited to get my hands on it, but my wallet was bled dry by the holidays.

I tried learning to play Go, but just couldn't get the hang of it. I got the basics down, but playing against even moderately skilled players I would always lose. Of course the same thing happens in chess, but I blame my dad for never teaching me, and instead just using chess as an excuse to beat me in a game.

I used to be very much into this scene, back when I still carried my PSP with me everywhere I went. Now I'm vaguely curious, but without a PS3, there isn't much testing I can do of how useful this really is. I know the hacked PSPs were dead useful, and I don't care how much this stuff gets used for piracy, I stand by

@DrForbidden: Except you don't need to complete the game. It's just a little reward to anyone that played the first game at all, as a kind of "thanks for playing" token of appreciation.

@Muskrat 42: The first one came out over two years ago, now. That's not nearly as long as some franchises, sure, but it's been a while.

So many awesome entries already. I haven't the talent to enter, but just want to say great work to everyone else.

@Seu: I played a little bit of Metro 2033, and enjoyed it for a while, but my computer is just too old to run it very well. I decided to shelve it for now, until I can afford to upgrade my PC with some more capable hardware.

@psycoking: That's what I think every time I see these articles. Such a waste of a probably still fixable Xbox.

@Teancum: Yes. Not me, of course, because I would never make such trivial mistakes, but someone, I'm sure.

Now playing

Reminds me of this amazing video. I love seeing creative uses for things like this, but part of me always cringes at the thought of cutting up a book.
