The idea that the American car industry would benefit from a lack of regulation - especially as it relates to automation - is really short-sighted and self defeating. Self-driving cars will not happen without a significant regulation regime, and there’s really no getting around that problem.

The GOP does precisely as you described and have done so for decades. They are a party who solely exists to serve the energy, healthcare and the financial industries whom write their paychecks. They simply milk your fears and stoke your paranoia on wedge issues unrelated to their vested interests to get you to look

Perhaps Obama should have taken fewer golfing trips and spent more time promoting his agenda. Then all this wouldn’t be “last minute”. Of course the administration was rock solid secure in their belief that the heir apparent would be crowned without a hitch.

None of these regulations are “last minute.” They have been working on them for years. It takes a really long time from the start of the process to the finalization. Between the public comment period, judicial reviews, cost analyses, interference from Congress, etc. There are OSHA regulations that were begun way back

I know some Jalops don’t want to hear it. But as someone who is old enough to remember the brown clouds and inversions from the 70's and 80's anything that slows Trump from being able to allow automakers to sell guzzling spewers without checks or balances is completely alright with me.
