It would be infinitely more productive to crack down on lawn equipment, gas generators, and any other small engines that have been mass polluting with impunity for decades. Going after the small fraction of the population that races cars is incredibly myopic.

Hey epa why don’t you crack down on semi trucks and buses that billow black smoke 24/7 instead of a relatively small amount people that race cars on the weekends?

Jalopnik, you are slipping. You didn’t answer the all-important question:

All laws are selectively enforced. But the enforcement when done isn’t going to be that difficult. They set the speed limit very low and then nearly everyone goes faster. They just pick who to enforce it upon. They could capitalize on previous gains and just set up a checkpoint on the main road to a track. They could

I said this to another reply: the EPA can’t even test the vast majority of stock cars on the roads today, let alone a few random track cars that see a small fraction of the total mileage every year. I didn’t read anything about dyno tunes- just a bunch of feather ruffling in an attempt to grab some meaningless power

It is THAT bad. Emission controls entail far more than just a catalytic converter. Having your car dyno tuned could be enough to go against the law, and getting a tune is a necessary part of even mild builds.

oh, you poor thing. Come to WI. My local liquor store has it for $15 for a 30-pack (or cube for you n00bs) and hell, even my grocery store has it for $16 a cube.
