What is the most compelling new character of any entertainment medium in 2016?
Its just interesting what the DS became in general. Supposed to be their “3rd pillar” for gaming devices, cannibalized the Gameboy brand, and became the best selling dedicated handheld of all-time. I remember people holding their breath on this one, coming off-of the commercial failure of the GameCube.

I’m a huge DS guy, so it was for me. All of the titles that used the 3ds analog add-on work well with the nub, and a lot of titles released in the last year or so simply run better/faster. I know Yoshi’s Wooly World is supposed to run at 60fps on N3DS as opposed to 30fps on the OG model.
I tried getting a new 2ds for my daughter (new blue and red ones came out late November), and it was clear scalpers picked them up to make $20-30 more than they were worth. Tons of them appeared on eBay right after the initial shipments went out.
If anyone is looking, store.nintendo.com offers Nintendo certified refurbs that have the warranty of new at a lower cost. Had a hell of a time finding my daughter a new 2ds, so I buckled down and got one in great shape from them.
I think they’re still gearing up for a 3rd season (or movie) in the next year or two. Problem is they sang all of their material for the first season...
Love this idea. I like to send a legendary or two each week so I have an excuse to play the game over again (and move the rest to the bank). Not once have I ever received anything better than a Machamp since X or Y.
I think this was the video I watched about it, which puts some things into perspective. I think there were some additions in other medium (like the anime) that supported this a bit. Not saying by any means they were inherently good.
