Totally agree. I just wish they’d drop some specs for devs to begin to look at what they could develop for it. The company that did Ori and the Blind Forest tweeted today that he has interest and simply wants to know what he can build for it.

Failing is a strong word. They’ve got over $4 billion in the bank as I write this, and Amiibo is still printing money. We may measure success differently, but there’s no denying they will be fine for the next decade or so.
Enjoy FE brother! Getting mine in 20 minutes...
Haha. I say 2nd best, as there are plenty of games (and dear lord I want Star Fox to be decent at least) that entered development hell just to be released as turds.
Look at recent trends too: Battlefront, Rainbow Six Siege, etc. I suppose at least Capcom told us the updates would be free, but I’m sticking to 1st party Sony and Nintendo games at launch from now on...
2nd-best gaming quote ever
Disappointing they focused on visuals and not, you know, the dozen or so missions I can’t complete due to glitches. (I know 1.3 addressed more than the draw visuals, but come on).
That’s why I was glad to see Broken Rules offered to help Fox at least. I figure from a pure business perspective, it would be a good fit (and Amiibo support being a huge plus). Of course, I’m getting way ahead of myself here.
Oh man, maybe Nintendo will notice the fan support behind bringing this title to WiiU.
But when’s Ditto’s birthday? Poor bastard.
I just dug out my import copy! Been playing alongside a printed translation guide. Forgot how heavily thematic it is. Hope these rumors hold some truth...
One of his development stories that sticks with me is when he was helping design the GBASP, and was trying to get his dev team to back him on putting a sleep mode feature into the hardware (when closed). The higher-ups didn’t think it was necessary and excluded it, but it just demonstrated the level of…
True, but the original titles pushed the absolute limit for cart size at the time. Gold and Silver also jumped consoles (if you count GB and GBC different enough hardware-wise), so factoring in all of the changes/additions/etc made it an impressive feat (again, at the time).
Good point about accessing the health market (which is something they’ve sort of addressed in the past). They certainly struck gold (literally) when tapping the casual crowd in the early days of Wii.
It wouldn’t be the first time they’ve shelved an idea, and I would imagine trying to turn the WiiU around and Amiibo took away from that focus. Heck, Miis were conceptualized during the NES era and not implemented until almost 4 console generations later.
Any “mods” out there that address bugs Bethesda still hasn’t?. I spent so much time wandering on my own and not questing, that there are 5+ missions I can’t finish because the game doesn’t recognize them anymore.
I gotta go with Nintendo on this one. They had given about a 6 month notice before Club Nintendo was all said and done. Don’t get me wrong though, that does still suck. It’s not like they couldn’t have kept the service going for at least a little longer with minor maintenance. Truth be told though, the NA version of…
There was also the balance issues of the turtles themselves (Raph’s reach was abysmal), and that you’d enter areas where the same enemies might take 2-3x more hits than they did the previous time you entered the same building/sewer/whatever (and respawns were terrible). Oh, and you almost need for each turtle to have…
I found the narrow hallway just before shredder to be worse. Enemies respawned like crazy and there was no room to dodge (and of course I ran out of scrolls).
Nowadays, absolutely. To my 4 year old self, probably not so much. I remember the intensity of the music (especially as the timer wound down) would freak me out.
