Sounds like they might be paving the way with some DLC after some leaked text files from the game’s data was dumped. Really hoping they ditch the lack of 2 player option if they do decide to update/put out DLC. Also, the gameplay and music are top notch IMO, but Friendly Tokens are awful.

I’m looking into upgrading my internet speed, so I might try to test it again afterward (since I think that might be the biggest differential) . The only other thing I’ve noticed, is that more data from X1 discs tend to be installed than PS4, so I’m assuming more data is coming from the PS4 disc directly during

PS4 is indeed better in this respect (and I’m no fanboy) from my experience and experiments. I don’t have the fastest internet, and I’ve tried installing games with similar updates on both systems head-to-head, and PS4 has always had the advantage. I’ve tried AC Unity, GTA V, and MGSV on both since I know those games

I’ve thought this too. I could see, however, with Nintendo’s “Nindie” initiative, giving some of these developers a bit of free press by making a Direct revolving around past, current, and upcoming titles.

IKR, seeing that .gif just made me a little bummed.

No matter when they bring them back, there will be a bit of underlying sadness without Iwata (or his puppet).

I actually went into Yo-kai somewhat skeptical, but I was impressed! Different enough to warrant a purchase one-day (perhaps). Great visuals, and the battle system was pretty fresh.

Remember that Nintendo’s shareholders are an aging group of Japanese businessmen, who have little-to-no interest in going the extra mile with “us kids and our rock-music”. But seriously, that it has a lot to do with how shareholders want their money allocated, and the whole internet thing is still pretty damn new to

Ok, for the record, Lacey is still not 100%, and Starks is a goddamn unsung hero of the Packers, period.

But some are innovative (read: non-kaizo) despite their difficulty, and there can be a tremendous sense of accomplishment on some of the clearly difficult, but well thought-out levels.

Its still a REALLY good creation tool, but like a lot of critics, finding the best/right/innovative levels aren’t always that easy. Honestly, I’d say don’t knock it until you try it.

Does anyone know if there are any differences (programmatic or otherwise) in the 3 different NES versions of SMB? Just wondered why he chose the 3-in-1 version over the other two.

Well they’re a business first, and Wii casual Wii/DS crowd made them a lot of money. Complain about clichés all you want, but Nintendo arguably won the business side of things compared to their competition last generation. Also, being different is what spawned Sony and MS to attempt their own control gimmicks.

I agree. Segas issue was their disconnect from their American and Japanese branches (missing out on a chance to Co - develop with Sony before Playstation), as well as simply too much hardware in the span of a decade.

The rehash argument always baffles me. We are getting Halo 5 and Assassins 6 (or whatever) next week after all.

No doubt, but if there is one truth to Nintendo (since the Gamecube), it’s that Nintendo does Nintendo best.

The writing was on the wall in 2013. Almost seemed obvious they’d be co-developing some sort of combo.

The idea of a hybrid (or whatever you want to call it) is probably the most forward-thinking and potentially non-gimmicky thing Nintendo has ever created. And if the hardware part is true, this somewhat goes against their traditional development process of lateral thinking (or finding new ways to use current

I’m also impressed with his voice work outside of Nintendo. I recently learned he was Orvus in one of the Ratchet and Clank Future titles, as well as a dragon in Skyrim. He’s got some chops, and an amazing attitude.

I’m certainly glad you used the correct “you’re”.
