Dude, Resetti was the first game character to make me feel awful for my actions. He’s the worst in the original AC. The more you reset, the longer he lectures you, and he is on POINT

You always seem to have the right picture/gif for EVERYTHING.

Shameless self-plug: FDOC-OOOO-OO7B-871A.

Would you include variants too? There are a couple out there (like metallic megaman, which I believe was only available to Nintendo employees), that might end up costing $1000 alone at some point.

Hell, I just want the box it comes in.

Word. I’m teaching my daughter that you should never have to pay full-price for anything. Just got into Skylanders finally after finding Giants and Swap-Force new at Goodwill for $10 each. And yeah... amiibo are a different story... especially now that Bowser and DK are in the new one...

Oh I completely agree with you. The digital lineup is incredible. You (and i) are the type of audience Sony desires, but as someone who has worked gaming retail the last decade, it’s easy to see the comparative disparity between visibility of the PSP versus Vita. When I initially posted about Sony not pushing it, I

Oh no doubt. I look at it as two companies trying to fight for the same market (mobile), but not necessarily demographic. Nintendo struck gold with the broad casual audience last-gen for both handheld and console, whereas Sony was attempting to woo both their console fans, as well as older gamers graduating from

I totally agree. I’m primarily a handheld gamer and had the good fortune to own both. I think when it comes down to it (despite both PSP and DS fighting for the same market, but not necessarily demographic), Sony did a hell of a job for their freshman handheld effort. Nintendo always does Nintendo (1st party) best,

Coming off of the heels of the PS2, I just remember the PSP launch being amazing. It really did feel like the future of where handheld gaming could go and what it could be (and in a lot of way, what it was), but besides some of the strange technical choices, the DS beat them where it counted, the games.

I believe at their peak, they had around 11-13% system share, and close to 20% of global software sales (both data points were from 2009). I know a lot has changed in 6 years, but even 11% isn’t terrible when factoring in how few markets the PSP was available in initially. Plus going against the juggernaut that the DS

haha. I think Japan has had it muuuuuuuuch longer than anyone else (US here BTW). They even got Legends 1 and 2 ported to PSP way back when, which made me glad it was region-free. It is interesting which regions get what, because I know Europe has gotten things (Nintendo-related) that I would kill for here. We’re all

IKR! Bout dang time!

Oh absolutely. I think Sony may have been luckier with the PSP than they had expected. Vita had the pedigree to be a great success (and don’t get me wrong, I love mine), with strange focus on parity with the PS4 instead of making a name for itself. I love the ideas of cross-buy and dedicated accounts, but I think the

Exactly! Launching (in the US) in February was an odd choice and forcing more propietary memory cards was ridiculous. I know the PSP had its hacking issues, but those paled compared to the success of the device. The Remote Play thing was a disaster too. Too much emphasis on something that was mostly ok.

I never looked into the specifics of why the system switch, but I know once the series took off on PSP, I wonder if the contiuned domination (market share) of 3DS impacted the overall switch. I will admit releasing MH3 on Wii was always a little strange to me.

Yeah buddy!

Well. Said. I’ll never get why Sony didn’t push it harder here in the West after the PSP took a respectable chunk of the mobile market. I may actually fire mine up with Megaman Legends coming out tomorrow.

Just your traditional narcissist.

Yeah, they’re certainly an easy target (for all the wrong reasons). I prefer they move to the beat of their own drum. Makes the whole gaming landscape more compelling.
