We’ll find out more in 1-2. I’d hate to see what 1-4 looks like...

Seriously. And my dad for trying daily at a handful of retailers almost daily for the better part of a month. This is before the internet was much of a thing after all, so luck was the name of the game.
My (awesome) dad went on a ridiculous quest to find Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Christmas of ‘98. For those of us that remember, that game was impossible to find. I honestly didn’t believe I would get one Christmas morning, but my dad later told me a nice fellow at Funcoland gave up his copy he was holding for himself,…
Dude, we almost had one until Capcom shit all over us.
Only reason(s) I could see them not including SMB2 would be the gameplay differences, and the fact that you’d need to choose a character for those specific levels. It’d be kinda weird to only be Mario in the other titles (save for the costumes), and then have the whole ensemble for 2.
The good news is that Nintendo still makes decent money off of their titles. Where they differ from, say, Konami is that their version of a“AAA” title costs far less to produce. I’d only be worried if Takeda and Miyamoto decided to leave the company, as they seem to have some of the greatest influence despite not…
Funny that the opening 1-1 track was actually the last one written for the game, as well as the goomba being one of the last enemies designed for the game.
Still is, even better if you can find the version with Super Mario World too! Just found out they made minor changes to that version too (new luigi sprite and animations).
1987. I was 2 and my mom found it to be the perfect pacifier (she’s a great woman, I was just a nutso kid). I remember asking for her help the first time encountering a water level. Still have that exact copy of SMB and NES.
Ideas like that still need to exist to push things forward for certain. Not everyone is going to agree with that of course, but despite my ownership of both x1 and ps4, I’m just kind-of underwhelmed when it comes to core gaming experience
I totally respect the landscape that MS was trying out outline for the future of gaming, where the fault seems to lie is in gaming itself (and Sony is slightly guilty of this too). I suppose my inner 10 year old just wants to put the cartridge in the system and be questing/stomping/shooting things 10 seconds later…
I might just be slightly naive to this, but isn’t the X1 pretty on the same functional (multimedia) level as MS had initially intended it to be? (Save for Kinect not being much of a thing, used games, and backwards-compatibility.)
I usually hate auto - scroll levels, but some neat Mariokart themed ones (complete with costume) have been popping up
ugh the caves toward the end of 2 were BRUTAL. I’d get to the final floor with 15/100 pikmin left trying to defeat the big baddie. It would either take an hour, or I’d have to start all over.
I’d like to see stories of when Gamestop actually got things right for people (staff going out of their way for someone, etc.). The company isn’t all bad. Just some bad apples and very stringent corporate policies.
No arguments here. I think its more the principle of “current game on current system, or the idea of current game being better on new system”. It also came out at the time people were punching each other in line to get a Wii in ‘06. Made the appeal that much greater. I will tell you I did get messed up when playing…
3 takes the switching up a notch, especially towards the end. Frustrating thing was, once you got the hang of everything and, started to get a flow to the overall game, it ended. I know there’s more to do after the credits roll (and replay missions), but the lack of bulbapedia (seriously one one of the best things…
I really would like to see some of these come to NX, but (like the case might be with Zelda) I just hope they don’t put too many games on both, and make it seem like we’re missing out by not playing on the latest version of a Nintendo system. Felt that way with Twilight Princess (which the Gamecube version is now…
Kinda hope they improve the pacing of 4. 2 seemed to have the best balance without worrying about time, but making the world more difficult (enemies, etc.). 3 just seemingly ended too abruptly.
That’s what I mean, I couldn’t remember what happened after you beat Paz, and by that account thought she wouldn’t even be in GZ.
