I use a 24" HDTV (this one specifucally: https://goo.gl/jzjVxR). I’ve been using it for years and I love it! I use my PC for games/movies and basic computing. Using a normal desktop setup (i.e. I’m about two feet from my screen), and running at 1080P games and web browsing alike look great!
