I’m surprised that a Kinja site isn’t immediately siding with the thought that bullying is happening here.

Man 2023 is shaping up to be the strongest year in gaming since 2017. Hogwarts Legacy, Tears of the Kingdom, Starfield, Spider-Man 2, and Final Fantasy 16 are probably the biggest hitters of the year, but there are a lot of fantastic looking games only a tier below that coming this year too. Gonna be a tough year for…
“Upon reportedly receiving criticism for plans to broadcast such a controversial game...”
Having played it, I would say it’s much nicer than a bog-standard AAA title. Of course with Kotaku reporting, they’ll almost certainly downplay anything great that a game like this actually does.
I’m shocked that Kotaku has even touched the game. Given their stance on things like this, you’d think they would be calling for the game to be banned and burned.
Alternate headline that you could just copy and paste for many games at this point: Smash Bros Clone Fizzles Into Obscurity. I think there’s a Nickelodeon game that could use that headline now too.
Let me guess, Kotaku isn’t even reviewing Hogwarts Legacy out of principle. Yeah, you show the many people whose livelihood depends on the game doing well and have nothing to do with the things Rowling has said, just because she gets a cut of all the sales. That’ll show the many people that made this game, and Rowling.
Except this really wouldn’t be a monopoly. Just cuz Microsoft would own Call of Duty doesn’t mean that a monopoly of the FPS genre would be gained or anything remotely like that. Might as well be complaining that by owning Mario, Nintendo has a monopoly on platformer games. Obviously that’s not true, though…
Yes, but they’re trying to make that average sound like it’s ok because it’s the average, and that’s the real issue. It's unhealthy, overweight, and borderline obese. We shouldn’t be ok with the fact that the majority of Americans are overweight and unhealthy, that’s why normalizing and accepting of the average in…
“Given that the average waist circumference in the U.S. is just around 40 inches.” I’m so disgusted by my own country. I had an unhealthy overweight B.M.I. when my waist hit 31 inches and it was the wake up call I needed to start exercising daily and eating healthier. Worst part is, the unhealthy overweight people…
This passes for news on Kataku these days huh?
Question: Does the game present its story as existing in our real world, or is it very much in it’s own realm? Because honestly, if it’s own realm, I don’t see the issue, it’s establishing lore for it’s world, and while such lore might be designed to get a rise out of those that are extra woke in this day and age, if…
Seems feasible they could have been watching a live stream or let’s play of the video game in question. Your computer doesn’t need special specs for that, and it almost certainly would still qualify as a misuse of company time.
I don’t care if he violated any rules or not. Simply put, grow up. You can feel bad, but be an adult about it. If you absolutely must tantrum, go do it in private.
Here’s the thing, we’ll always have appealing indie games that aren’t taxing that could easily run on the likes of the 360, PS3, or even Wii U. And while I’m not arguing to keep that gen alive, I do have to question why a dev wouldn’t want to keep their game available (even just digitally) on as many platforms as…
Seems very feasible that they’ll integrate GTA 6's online with GTA Online that we have now. I don’t know how exactly, but seems quite possible that they could make both Los Santos and Vice City different islands in the same larger world map. In which case you may be able to transfer your already obtained Online…
Arguably all that’s happened is that one Twitch streamer decided to make their job easier by having an AI do it for them. And since the AI has no need for money, they take in the cash for themselves. No job was lost per se, instead someone is just working way smarter. Plus, are we really going to pretend there is some…
Seem since AI is always ‘learning’ it would best to condition AI extensively for possibly years with private training before unleashing it to the likes of Twitch viewers
Joan Rivers would be groaning for having to cover the Gaming Awards no matter how well dressed everyone is. And that’s the point, it’s a different world from the Oscars, and we should be encouraging these people to be themselves, not forcing them to wear something that doesn’t even represent who they truly are.
Frankly, this idea that one must dress up to receive an award needs to die. Let’s see people for who they really are when they get their trophy and make their speech, if they want to wear something nice, by all means have at it, but if they want to dress how they game or how they dress when they make their games why…
