I didn’t agree with a lot of the posts on Splinter and I often disagreed with a lot of the comments. But the one thing I always appreciated was that when something absolutely ludicrous happened and not nearly enough people were going around saying, “What the flying fuck was that?” I could always find people on

Thanks for everything guys.

Splinter was good. Gawker was good. Deadspin was good, when it wasn’t sticking to sports.

True words. I miss it daily.

Shutting down the only dedicated politics website in your portfolio right before the 2020 election, one of the most consequential of our lifetime, kicks into high gear. Essentially shutting down the second-most highly trafficked website in your portfolio because one out of every twenty five posts rankles you. I’m not

“Pilot voice” cracks me up lmao

That does sound terrifying, but I think I would prefer the bored sounding captain to the panicked sounding one. Have you ever heard the recording of Sully talking to the tower when he decided they needed to land in the Hudson? Dude sounds completely calm.

I had to scroll way too far to find a stance comment.

Related to that, I can’t figure out which one I hate more: The Calvin pissing on something stickers, or the Calvin praying stickers.

Yes! This! I was just talking to my buddy about this exact thing this morning. Not only does your Miata or BMW look like it broke it’s suspension, but good God how must his tire store love them! Maybe I’m a little old fashioned but I thought the more rubber you have in contact with the ground, the better?! I’ll take

Agreed, but to be fair, I said “a bit” more sidewall, not 60's-era sidewall.

It goes back a bit further than school buses & carbon fibre.

The political hating of cars.

I started with carbon fiber hoods. Blacked hoods is the poor man’s CF hood.

While I’m not positive, could be a couple things. If it’s matt black, it could be anti-glare and if it’s gloss black, could be an attempt to make it look like a carbon fiber hood.

Troof. If you go to another country and get used to their vehicles, then come back to the states, all of our vehicles are ridiculously oversized for really no reason.

Low profile/lower aspect ratio tires on every performance-oriented sedan that will likely never see a track.

These stupid windsheild stickers that always say the dumbest things, I’ve seen them on a stock Hyundai and whatnot, gets on my nerves lol

Monster Trucks. And by that I mean the stock issue Ford, Chevy, and Ram. If a 6’ human can’t see into the bed it’s too damn big.

Small windows with high doors. I know it is a “look” but visibility suffers.
