They run my employer’s suspension arms because we make the only ones that can withstand the launches. SPL Parts. Made in the USA in Austin, TX, fyi.

So remember those antisexism posts I did on Opposite Lock? The response was pathetic. I got death threats, told I wasn’t a man, the list goes on.... It is just depressing.

They have the right to look through your phone and bags with no warrant with 100 air miles of a US border.

Look at lots of factors. Cars of late 80s-90s had lots of iffy tech. Beretta digital dash for one. Things that are and were pricey and time consuming to fix. Look at British cars. Simple, pretty robust, and easy to maintain. Thus so many in the mix still many decades after being built.

Have you seen this book?

Sunday night early Monday morning, take the LIE straight into midtown, you may get a red out of the tunnel, otherwise smooth all the way to West Side Hwy. But it usually only happens about 2am or so.

Man, in 1997 I picked up a beat up Austin Healey 3000 with no top in the UP of MI. 18 degrees was the high, Presidents week in Feb. Drove it home to Indianapolis. Knees and lower hot, stomach to knees comfy, chest and above painfully cold.

Fintail Mercedes 4 door sedan. AC, great to drive, parts easy to get.

There were some really awesome v-10 engines as well. Also, straight 6 plants were the preferred performance engine for decades, due to smooth output, lots of torque, and simplicity.

Laugh all you want, but one that has been restored or well maintained is comfortable, handles very well, is quickish off the line and has a huge trunk. The TR8 is all the above with a lot more grunt.

Depends on the top on a convertible. Drive one with 3 windows and there is basically only a blind spot where the passenger head is.

Why are you talking to someone about buying a Miata if you hate them? How often does your awesome racecar run? How much has it cost vs a Moats racer? Also, you talk about overplayed triteness with Miatas, but isn’t that exactly what you are guilty of with your stuffed animals?

You are missing a HUGE factor for that price jump. The double digit inflation of the Carter years. Like 13%. I recall seeing commercials for mortgages that had finally come under 20%. Technology wasn’t the driver of the price jump. Just insane inflation.

I remember talking about this at SXSW. I see how it can help in Columbus, and can’t help but wonder if they won due to the possibility of success that likely can’t be replicated in a place like here in Austin. Smart EV is great, but honestly, the true issue isn’t getting EV systems to move more efficiently, it’s to

That argument can be made for so many cars. Sadly the stereotype is there for at least somewhat just cause. But if you like a car, no matter the rep it has (or the stereotypical owner has) then be the outlier.

Isn’t getting pole at Le Mans like winning the prologue in a 3 week bike stage race? IE: impressive but it’s more about staying power and endurance.

I always wanted to drive one of these but never had the stars line up. I wanted to see what it was like compared to a 512. The video seems to answer some of my questions. It would be scary and brilliant.

I’m ok with getting concussions. I’ve had 8 where I was out cold for anything from 2 minutes to 49 minutes. I know I had many others that I didn’t get knocked out from. As a former elite cyclist and also race driver it went with the territory, as well as the Army.

Here in TX when the roads are under water like that and someone does that, the car ends up floating down the river, or being violently swept away and the occupants killed. At least all that got ruined were his ego, shoes and pants, and engine.

I’ve ridden recumbents, and they are more like a GT version of a bike. Part of my hesitation is the low profile, and I really enjoy my traditional style bike. As to the UCI, don’t get me started. I raced at a high enough level to have to deal with them personally...
