Hoo. Dug deep for that reference. If this wasn't Giz, I'd be wondering if anyone else got it.

The real question is if it goes past the third season (and not cancel it and announce a new show, like, Star Trek: Compuserve that coincidentally has the same cast and crew...)

AI ‘art’ is trash and so are the people who support it.  Short pier, long walk; you have your assignment, get to it.

Been a Corridor fan ever since they put out their Dubstep Guns video, but none of their stuff ever seemed like they were shilling something up until they put out Rock, Paper, Scissors anime.

Yes.

I see you have never visited the real upstate NY. It is very much a red state in ideology that only lacks the population numbers that NYC has to actually make it a red state.

Tech nerds really have it out to try and make Aloy look “better” and it always look like that. Genuinely hilarious.

The AI one has some resemblance, and looks like a human being. The original looks like a bad potato carving of a LEGO man.

Let me get this straight...

It’s a great example of the cultural flaws baked into AI, and it’s something non-American, non-TechBro AI critics have been talking about for ages: it’s only as good as the shit violates the copyright of scrapes for its dataset.

I’m going to assuming his answer is “Yes”.

People acting like airbrushing is new, just because AI is doing it now. Pfft. It’s not impressive, it’s dull.

Because they’re not artists. They’re tech dudes who think they can take something squishy and messy like art and recreate it with cold engineering. They don’t actually understand what art is, why people make it, or why people appreciate it.

Do you actually not understand the difference or are you being contrarian?

Those aren’t “upscaled”, they’re changed/generated. They’re new faces. (and they’re almost uniformly terrible. I mean, holy crap, those three samples in the middle of the article are awful.)

How can these fools even pretend it doesn’t look like ass? I skimmed the video, there’s some really bad changes in there.

Why do all the AI dudes have the artistic understanding of a literal child.

This seems like the natural successor to those “fixing” other people’s art videos that float around where it’s just someone constantly using the smooth tool and adding “realistic” shading, which apparently just means making everything look like a silicone mask.

Their Aloy is wild because she has less facial features than the original. Its like they put excessive foundation on her.

Not going to lie, I came into the post thinking “it’s not that bad”, because the thumbnail looked like an actual improvement was made from the original. Having seen some of the rest... ouch... that’s pretty bad.
