Exception: Rental cars. Do all of this if you get a rental car (except for maybe coasting in neutral. Do try to see whats the lowest gear the trans will allow while doing 60mph)

I went to my local fiat dealer to look at a used truck on the lot and there was no one to be found on the sales showroom floor or anywhere near their dealership. I had to walk across the parkinglot to the dodge dealer to let them know I wanted to look at a car on the fiat lot. It took the guy 10-15 mins to get to me.…
Ive been to a couple places that only had valet parking. I didn’t like the idea and stood outside and watched while they parked my car. I did have one place in downtown LA that let me park my own car even though it was valet only. The manager was very nice and understanding. I told him the clutch was very stiff and…
We have signs out where Im at that say "Slower Traffic Keep Right." every 50 ft or so and people still camp out in the left lane. Then they get mad when you pass them on the right or flash your headlights at them to move over. The sign does not say "If youre doing 70mph, you can hang out here in the left lane." If you…
And she would’ve gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for those meddling cops...
Buyers Guide: Don’t... just don’t. Don’t buy one. I got one as a rental car and it was a gutless POS that would start in 2nd gear unless you slammed the throttle down then it would drop into 1st after thinking that 2nd was good enough (9 speeds yo!). It was annoying, blind spots were terrible, and there are much…
on my BMW 135i, BMW recommends 15k mile oil changes or longer if the “oil service” light doesn’t come on. I think its because they cover the maintenance for the first few years so they don’t want to pay for the oil changes. I started off changing it myself every 7500 miles and letting them do the one free. Then I…
Its probably a way to promote the new Focus RS while giving him something to hoon in. Maybe he is going to get into roadracing with it and still waiting sponsors? It would be neat if it was rear/mid engine
There is a Heavy Duty throttle cable for VWs, that bolts to the gas pedal instead of having that "Z" hook in it. You have to make the hole in the gas pedal a little bigger but its a much stronger cable. I replaced my stock one back in '99 with the HD one and haven't had a problem since... <knock on wood>
My dad had one of those Toyota 1 ton pick ups in the late 80s. He said the truck handled pretty good and the 22RE wouldn’t blow up when he overreved it trying (it was consuming oil at 1 quart a day and the dealership had "replaced" the engine 5 times.)
Ive always been a fan of OEM plus look. For example, my BMW 135 has some alcantara wrapped trim pieces similar to the 1M, as well as a quad exhaust. My GTO has a lot of OEM Holden Special Vehicles parts on it like the steering wheel and gauge cluster. I like to make things look as if they could be OEM on the car, not…
I think I used to have a porpoise, then again it might have been a dream...
The C6 GS was a step between the base model and the Z06. It has all the Z06 body parts, wheels, and brakes but the base model engine (the manual trans cars had a dry sump system though). That being said, all the extra weight from the Z06 panels, brakes, and wheels made it the slowest stock corvette in a straight line.…
Id like to see how they are going to run the inlets for twin turbos through the stock airbox. And the stock airbox flows enough to support that kind of power with just a "drop in filter"?
Now throw the 4B11T and Evo drivetrain in one, so I can "buy one for the wife". I saw these at Mitsubishi Owners Day 2009 and immediately thought it needed a turbo and AWD. I like the way they look.
I know, I should’ve just bought one and sucked it up for a few years as a daily. Oh well.
Yeah the Evo had a rough ride and the recaros were not comfortable at all. I miss it sometimes but that’s only because Im bored of the 135 (I have a short attention span)
I agree with this. I looked at buying an Exige S as a daily driver decided against it because of the egress and ingress. in 2012, they were going for mid $30k for a used one. Cant find one for that price now... Funny story the one I test drove was Lorenzo Lamas’ Exige that was at a dealership on consignment.
*Celica GTS engine and I wouldn’t call it "plain jane"
I daily drove a 96 Talon Tsi AWD for many years. It made just over 400 awhp and weighed 3340 with me in it and a full tank of gas. It got 26mpg on the highway though. Full interior and AC (couldn’t use it though because the car would run hot, the FMIC blocked too much of the radiator). It was rough daily driving it…
