I like these a lot but the CVT trans scares me because of my past experiences with CVT rental cars. I don't like the constantly slipping auto trans feel of CVTs.
I was stationed in Italy at the time and a buddies wife was on her way there so we had to pick her up at the airport. We decided to make the 3 hour trip all taking separate cars. I had my 90 Prelude Si, a friend had his 90 Euro Civic , and the married man had his VW G60 supercharged Golf. We were cruising along the…
When I had my Evo X, I left it running and kept the key fob in my pocket. I had my wife drive it around the block to see if it would shut off. It didn’t. You could probably drive the thing until it ran out of gas or you shut it off without the key fob in the car. People are dumb. I say cars are too quiet! If the car…
You could do a lot worse for $4200, NP! Shoot, I think 4000 for an ACR would probably be alright without the swap.
Rally North America has a lot of laid back rallys as well. I did the Route 66 rally a few years back. It was $100 entry fee and then you had to book and pay for your own hotels. It was a BLAST. We started in Fontana, CA and ended up in Amarillo, TX over 3 days. Stopping at the routes check points to take pictures of…
Yes less emissions and better fuel economy. Me personally, I got it because of those reasons as well as the 5.9L has been around forever so its kind of "tried and true" with few issues. I almost settled for the 6.7 because the 5.9 was hard to find in good shape.
The turbos are soo small too that they spool when you breathe on the gas pedal. Bigger turbos would give you better MPG. keep your foot out of it and it will get decent MPG. my 96 AWD DSM with 400 AWHP from a holset HX35 got 26+ mpg on the highway, while my 08 Evo x was barely able to break 20mph (gearing and small…
I just bought an 06 Ram 2500 4x4 diesel (5.9 cummins) automatic with 80k miles for $31k out the door and that was the best deal I could find anywhere. They are holding their value like crazy. The newer ones go for more than that. I think its partly because the new trucks keep getting more expensive and partly because…
Any theft of your car, parts, or tools at your local track. It always seems to hurt when you stay up all night working on your car, get up early, drive a few hours to make it to a track day, have your car run like crap (because it ran fine yesterday...), only to have something stolen from you while you are there just…
It has 2! Its a 2 door hatchback. If it is a coupe, its a 2 door coupe. If its a sedan, its a 2 door sedan. There is also a 4 door hatchback, wagon, sedan, and (ugh) gran coupe.
You can go by stilts.
While Im jealous that he can own soo many vipers and I do not have a single one, I think its kind of a boring car collection. 79 of the same car? I could see 10 (one for each generation and then some high performance versions for good measure but 79 (said in the tone of Clerks "thirty seven!")!! just a boring…
Im just saying. Enjoy the car for what it is (if its a cool car and fun to drive) and not what its pretending to be.
I wonder how it handles and drives. If its a great car in every other aspect, then buy it, remove the badges, and tell everyone its a kit car and not anything specific.
The Wifes WRX has had a cylinder 2 misfire for a while (not just a cel but an actual misfire at idle). Ive changed the plug, the injector, and the coil. I even moved each of the components to different cylinders. Leak down, and compression came back good. The wiring was checked for continuity from ecu to the injector…
Remember to double your budget on whatever you think it will cost to get it running again. I just built a 1914cc engine for my VW and figured it was going to cost about $1500... ended up being closer to $3000 because of a lot of "nice to haves" and "while Im heres". Drinking beer is mandatory. have fun and good luck
5th Gear: Can I borrow a Regal GS for 24 hours, it seems like such a sweet car but not sure if Id really like it but Ill hoon the hell out of it for 24 hours.
I want to see Hounds tooth interiors make a comeback. even if its just a little bit here and there to play homage to the original.
I think its a lack of performance. Most people claim their car feels slow. The only real way to tell is looking at it. Maybe get a bore scope and look down into the intake manifold before pulling it off. I think BMW said it needs to be done at 75K miles but some guys do it sooner.
