I can’t image it’s impossible to find a wrecked Challenger with a good motor you could use as a donor, with all the wiring that would bolt right up rather than this nightmare.

WOO, In Dayton Ohio and he even has a few statues here to remind us of the awesome inventions.
I completely understand your feelings and I’m with you. Another part of me justifies it that we never know if we’ll have tomorrow and we should enjoy the time we have, plus the flights you were on were likely going to fly those same routes with or without you. So in a way, you reduced the average CO2/mile per person by…
compared to what? The market only has a few modifiers out there and I doubt they crash test their models.
Are any of them still running? I used to see them quite a bit in my area but they seemed to have disappeared. I had a few fiends with them that loved them, but they all died horrible deaths (transmissions primarily).
I didn’t realize how much leases can be, almost $10,000 for 3 years of a Toyota.
I was wondering the same thing. I wonder how much of a deal could be had if they casted out a net nationwide.
This is an automotive site, I vote to not yuck other people’s yum. I kinda like it, but even if I didn’t, good for you. I say find a car that you love everyday, life is too short to care what other people think.
I’d image the cheapest option would be a wrecked Leaf or Bolt. Even if they have a ‘bad battery’, typically it’s just a few cells you can replace.
I would love to put two of these in an old 240z:
I say sarari’ize it.
Same thought here, the GR 86 is exactly what he’s looking for. I’d vote wait on that. Plus it will be brand new unlike every other suggestion here.
Doesn’t this also indicate that the Porsche cayman is considerably overpowered then? The 86 weighs similar and has 60% less power than some of the models...I understand they are not in the same class, however both enthusiast cars.
I agree 100%, I think it’s easy to turn your nose up at an 86 by just looking at the numbers. I’d recommend anyone that’s an enthusiast to at least drive one, it might change your mind.
Plus aren’t they almost free used? Almost like pianos, I remember seeing a few for very cheap or free in my local area.
Inflation is important to reference here. I believe the modern comparison would be the S2000 to the new Supra.
That’s very true, me behind a keyboard don’t understand the complexities in engineering the car. However I have seen one’s turbo’d, and if Jim in his garage with some beers can make it work, I image it shouldn’t be too difficult for a professional engineering team from an OEM.
I know it’s been beaten forever, however the Toyota 86/BRZ:
Anyone have any luck with cleaning mold what seems like inside of the caulking?
The Walmart near you could have chased off other companies. However according to an older NPR podcast, the primary causes of small business closing down is dollar stores. Most decline in smaller business was attributed to Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, etc. opening up shop in towns.
