I agree, important point about the hybrid Maverick, it’s not AWD like the Santa Cruz is. For some, that may be an important factor.

I wish they went with that logo. It looks clean and new, not confusing and misleading.

I wish GM would bring back the small 2 seater, like the Sky and Solstice and competition to the Miata. They could even brand it as a small Corvette. They were critically undervalued at the time and came out at an unfortunately time.

Could not agree more. Needing a loan for your credit is a myth that won’t leave. Wife and I have never had a car loan and have stelar credit. All we’ve had is a few credit cards since college, pay them off monthly, and never run a large balance. Especially for a new driver, get something you both can afford, and they

Especially with the proliferation of screens and extra cabin lighting, I wish Saab’s night panel was more wide-spread. It essentially turned off all extra gauges so you could focus on your speed and actually driving.

I was thinking of course the 2JZ-GTE, used in the Supra and non-turbo’d in a few Lexus models. Built for power, extremely smooth, easy to work on.

Most places around me have a minimum wage of $15/hr, and most servers (with tips) earn ~$20/hr or more. I think making $10-20k per year is plenty enough to buy a beater (<$6,000). Which yesterday’s QOTD outlined there are plenty of decent rides out there for modest sums.

You’re right, I hate free food too. Sounds awful.

I love the fact about truck’s efficiency with the bed up vs. down. I think I remember a myth busters where they tested it out. Neat!

I believe there’s a fair bit of personal responsibility at hand too. Just like folks suing Gun manufactures for causalities caused by them is similar to suing a brick company because a kid threw one through my back window. The majority of the program is the person in control who conducts an action.

Curious why you wouldn’t consider selling now? Essentially drive it for nearly free, then add a few thousand and get a brand new one.

That guy has spent almost $150,000 on tiny boats. Hey if it floats his boat...I’d rather have a decent house.

Or Buick’s, who’s buying them? I know China is a huge market for them, however what compels someone to get one? (besides the Tourx)

Speaking from experience, if you only have 1-2 kids, most larger cars will fit them and the gear just fine. If you need more space, I’d highly recommend at least test driving a few minivans. I know, I know, they have a stigma, however they shine when you have gear and people you need to move, which you will for the

Your points are true. However purchasing cars is not a simple math equation, if it was, most folks should get a few year old boring car. There’s emotion in the equation. Plus, most the folks making the ‘making more on investments’ argument have triple their 401ks values in vehicles depreciating in the driveway because

I thought that was a foot activated manual windshield sprayer

Everyone here probably knows, but Saab’s center mounted ignition and window controls:

Also this just in for news that’s not too surprising, most crash deaths were unbelted and 99% of Covid deaths were those that were unvaccinated. It’s sad, however we can’t force people to have personal reasonability.

Which is true, the best bet then, is to take the loan, ensure it doesn’t have any prepayment penalties, then pay it off the next day.

These do look like a weave, I thought Ford’s original carbon wheels used a blown in fiber to get strength from most directions
