OH yes, you're right!

I'm positive Landau mentioned FEMA in the movie, because I remember thinking about it during Katrina.

I swear I've heard the whole "The takeover will start on a Friday" thing on this show. Maybe Landau's character in the movie? I know that guy was big on the FEMA conspiracy

Rampling is part of the problem. She's exactly the type of actor, like Streep, that gets nominated because voters are lazy and haven't seen most of the movies. "Charlotte Rampling is in something? She must be good, nominate her!"

I watched the original pilot a few weeks ago and to me they still seem older than I am now (36)

Right? It's a pretty fucking bold move to try and pull this shit at this moment in time. Wait, is bold the right word?

Peggy! Yes, hated her too! I knew there were two female cartoon characters that I loathed. Peggy was the absolute worst, even worse than Helen Lovejoy because she's in every damn episode with her big stupid feet.

My mind has just been blown with Linda Belcher.

I wish he was just remaking Quantum Leap with Walt Goggins

Also if you want to see some more blatant side-taking, follow Devin Feraci on Twitter. DC must have pissed in his cornflakes.

Welcome to the AV Club. Although they seem to be more lenient on Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman, so far.

He's producing all of them in some capacity isn't he?

I find it funny-and I'm not saying you're one of these people-that some filmgoers complain whenever a comic book movies attempts to recreate the more garish color schemes and costumes of a comic book and then others complain when a comic book movie doesn't attempt to recreate that aesthetic from the comics. There are

I'm kind of welling up just thinking about the end of Perks of Being a Wallflower

Why does it look dull, messy, scattered and joyless exactly?

Are you talking about the colors of her suit or just generally the muted tone?

That was honestly one of the first thoughts I had when I saw Steve Trevor way back in the WWI-era. One benefit of the Wonder Woman story is that she doesn't get frozen or anything, she just lives through 100 years or so without aging. So they can certainly revisit past eras of Wonder Woman along with Steve Trevor.

Did AV Club get new staffers that aren't automatically prone to hate the DCU, or did the people who previously were prone to hate the DCU leave?

I don't see Suicide Squad as a Guardians rip. If anything Green Lantern Corps has a lot of the same dynamics. They have a rodent Green Lantern! And I'm pretty sure there is a vegetative type Lantern. There are aspects of Quill in both Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner.
