Emily, I’m usually yelling at the people who bitch and moan about “clickbaity headlines,” but this desperately needs a rewrite and clarification. If drive.google.com isn’t changing, it’s not going to affect like 75% of users (including me). I had to go into the comments to find this out. You can do better than this

You’re an idiot. The desktop software is changing, the service remains. Try reading the fucking article you link fully before smashing your hands on the keyboard and freaking people out for no damn reason.

Google accounts aren’t changing. Drive’s not changing. If your kids are on Chromebooks, nothing’s changing.

This article is beyond misleading.

Holy clickbait batman. I think you need to specify this is about the windows/mac apps and not the drive.google.com.

What a misleading title.

It doesn’t, this entire article is nonsense. Just install the new Backup and Sync from Google whenever is convenient and you won’t notice a difference. Nothing to see here, just an update with name change.

yeah this was egregious. It doesn’t even explicitly clarify in the article.

Thank you for clarifying this.

Yes. Misleading article, Drive as a service isn’t going anywhere.

Seriously, this post needs a few edits. The Drive software is leaving, not the service. This article is misleading.

Maybe clarify that this is not actually affecting the Drive cloud service but only the apps labeled Drive on Macs and PCs.

So is this just the client apps that will be changing?
