I still haven’t gotten over the time when I worked retail my manager made be work three full days of doubles after a snowstorm because he drove a RWD sports car and he had no way to drive in.

The thing is, this show made me laugh more than I’ve laughed in a long time. For that alone, its first season gets an A.

This show is making less and less sense. I watched The Clone Wars and Rebels, and never got the sense Mandalorians were this stuffy and boring. Maybe it’s just this specific cult, but the stilted dialogue (even Commander Data uses more contractions than these guys) and the apparent aimlessness of their existence -

This is good news. I don’t think anyone at Disney or Lucasfilm knows what the hell they’re doing. At this point the best we can hope for is the righting of the ship, and the ONLY possibility I see of that happening is taking the Mandoverse to theaters for an epic culmination and conclusion of that storyline. Wait

Man, that’s not just DC.

It all comes down to computers. The sophistication of the software is miles form where it needs to be and the hardware needed to run that software is still too expensive for mass-produced consumer products (I mean, the military is just now getting to the point they somewhat trust autonomous hardware to be mission

Expecting contract writers to compose music as great as Rumours... I mean I get it, but I also get it. It’s much easier to write songs for a middling band like Stillwater than for what’s supposed to be one of the biggest and best bands that’s ever existed. I don

Enthusiasts demand a manual, but in this day and age I HAVE to wonder if that being the only option will impair its sales.

My conundrum - I loved the Mandalorian as a show when it was a sort of 80's styled adventure of the week format, with a kind of Kung Fu through-story connecting them. But I am wincing at the possibility of the adoption of a super-serialized format. Andor was amazing and utterly unexpected, but Mando shouldn’t - and

As a previously working musician in Austin, I can affirm I have heard some truly terrible drummers as well as some mind-blowing drummers, but there is no such thing as a bad drummer who was able to go out night after night to play with Jack White who didn’t know exactly what they were doing. Meg was just as much of

I drive 200 miles a week. If someone still sold a $25,000 compact hatchback that had basic range, a good/comfortable interior, and rapid charging, I’d be down. Remember the Leaf? Close. So close. But god the seats and build quality.

On a related note.

“That’s it? We waited two years for THAT?! That sucked!” - my kids

Man, I used to LOVE the Alamo Drafthouse. We’d go to the original location on Colorado in downtown Austin all the damn time. Live shows like Mr. Sinus Theatre, hair metal sing-alongs, Weird Wednesday, short film festivals. I didn’t even really think of it as a first run theater. I’d always get there a half hour early

Roy is DEFINITELY the new coach, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Coach Beard decide to remain in England. Nate gets redemption but not a head coaching job.

I’ve had too many people swerve into the bike lane to cause me to crash (or just kill me) to believe there’s much good left in the human race. I don’t ride anymore, even in the bike lanes. As sad as it sounds, I don’t let my kids ride in the neighborhood without an adult accompanying. Just too dangerous.

Booke of Bobe Fett was fine. The stakes were low, the story was fine, I mean... it was a TV show. I wasn’t expecting much and I got a fun if occasionally preposterous story. The mod scooter gang will never not be a groanworthy joke that some producer should have said No to. The biggest sin was including two and a half

Deliver Us the Moon was a great little game for $20.

There’s a fundamental problem with Star Wars - it was intended to be one film, basically an homage/art project, that everyone expected to be an interesting failure, including George Lucas and Alan Ladd, Jr. When it became a phenomenon, the retconning of its origin story started immediately, including the notion that

Affordable? I’m middle aged, make good money, have reliable savings, am financially comfortable, and I’d never even consider paying more than $40k for a car.
