okay, so your argument that asking for triple lockers is silly because AWD EVs have two motors, so at most you would only ever need is two lockers, or two slipping differentials that provide the same function as a locker but with different methods?

I’ll share my use case here - hobby racer. I tow 5000lbs once a month for roughly 200 miles round trip with the AC blasting the whole way. A couple times a year I may go as far as 300 miles in a day. Those that travel to racetracks would expect to do 500 miles in a day.

There are currently no electric off-roaders, so “most” EVs being single motor doesn’t really mean anything. Are there any single motor EVs that actually drive and drive four wheels?

Yeah, especially when many dealers are offering them for under invoice.

Locking 4wd is never going to be a thing with EVs though.
