The manual they’re using is currently rated at over 400lb-ft, and is scalable up to 590 lb-ft. The hardware is there, they just don’t want to do it.
The Raptor version will 1000% not get a manual. I’ve given up on the idea of a V6 manual. The performance would be worse, they’re limited on the electronic goodies they can offer (one-pedal trail driving, front dig, trail control).
You can love driving a manual just because of the way it feels, even if it doesn’t really make a lot of sense.
Interesting! LT or Premium? I’ve toyed with getting a Premium to DD as my daily commute is under 40 miles and my work offers charging stations. Heated leather, CarPlay, quickish acceleration.
For the same money I’d get a ‘16-up Volt. 53 mile electric range, much better looks (imo), quicker (7.1 0-60 vs. 7.9 for the C-Max).
Keep the Durango and the Crossfire. Donate the Cavalier to a high school cheerleader in 2007. Send everything else to the fucking crusher.
Are you purposely putting the rear wheel in the wrong place to screw with my head??
It’s the smallest Ranger vs. smallest F150.
I can’t find anything about an automotive 8 speed manual from ZF online...plenty about the 8HP auto and apparently a new 8 speed DCT.
I figured the base Bronco sport would be FWD, but they were really excited in the Bronco reveal about the entire Bronco range being AWD standard. If this new little truck carries some kind of Bronco name or falls under that brand umbrella, I think they’d give it AWD standard. It feels like Ford is shooting for the…
My best guess is that Ford will sell an annualized 100,000 or so of these, though it will be interesting to see just how many. For context, Jeep sold 228,032 Wranglers last year in the U.S.
Which Wranglers were available with full time 4wd? Just the Sahara or could you get it on more trims?
Beautiful comment, thank you for sharing.
That generally decreases ground clearance (better to have the rotors inside the wheels where they can’t get hit) and greatly increases load on the axles, as the braking force (much higher than acceleration force) now has to pass through the axles.
My company has strict policies on what I’m allowed to say on social media when recognized as an employee of my company. If this guy’s company sold some steering boxes to a customer and then he goes on record talking about how shitty all steering boxes are, that could look bad for his company.
