I don’t have time for this. This has long since passed being about what a C-list actor may or may not have done, and more about the fact that the real people in power are using this to try and placate their white supremacist power structure.  I don’t trust anyone’s motivations in this.  Eddie Johnson’s ass is gone

Chicago law enforcement’s reaction to Smollett’s alleged infraction is ridiculously disproportionate and outrageously selective.

We also don’t get Anne’s attempted kidnapping so they seem to be skipping those types of events sadly.

I’m conflicted about this episode. It was frustrating because Charles clearly lacks a respect for or an appreciation of the difficulty of wearing the crown, and his rebelling against his mother came off as more childish than thoughtful, but on the other hand, Elizabeth is doing nothing to share her burden with Charles

There’s the constant sense that things are happening because they have to, not because of an actual organic plot development.

Warren did not apply for school on a Native American scholarship.

G damn right, sir. Also, who can I talk to about changing our voting system so people can rank their top candidates, or just choose their top three, so that the least objectionable candidate gets the nod rather than the one with the most rabid base?

People still act like the MLBPA is the same as it once was.  It USED to be this shining example for why having a strong union is important.  But it has turned to shit and Tony Clark has continued to run it into the ground.

There used to be this website called “Deadspin” (it was pretty good!) that did what I still consider to be the definitive take-down of Whitlock. It was biting and they had ALL the receipts:

Michael I insist that you do a column comparing the cooning talents of Stephen A and the original shuck & jive artist himself Jason Whitlock. I mean Whitlock is a hall of fame House Negro but Stephen is quickly moving up to his level. In fact he reminds me of another Stephen portrayed so brilliantly by Samuel L.

I took his comment to mean that he’s an idiot.

In an episode featuring giant squids dropped on New York, consumer cloning, pills that contain memories, and a rescue SOS being created on one of Jupiter’s moons with clone bodies, a freshman U.S. Senator whining about being given a seat on the Appropriations Committee was by far the hardest thing to believe.

I don’t think their talent levels should factor Into whether we remember and note who the first black players in the NFL, NBA, etc. I mean, Willie O’Ree was the first black player in the NHL but his stats are definitely nothing to write home about compared to other black players like P.K. Subban who have come since.

I think we definitely know Jackie Robinson because he was one of the best 2nd basemen to ever play the game. His greatness as an athlete is unquestionable. Cooper, and Kenny Washington (first black player in the NFL) had forgettable careers, and were easily overshadowed by the guys that followed.

So who the hell is Chuck Cooper?

They are playing a game for a life changing amount of money. The players are naturally going to be hesitant about “causing a scene”. It should be on the producers to take that burden on themselves to enforce rules and kick someone off if need be without asking a contestant what their thoughts are. Placing that

Holy fuck, that was one of the most embarrassing things I’ve read recently.

asdkfjdk my GOD woman, get your head out of your ass. Sarah, you write shitty teen romance YA, you’re not out here writing the next Booker Prize novel. Of course a college junior, who is presumably in her twenties and you know, at university to challenge herself academically, wants to read something with more

How would Dessen even find this criticism?

The whole “Beowulf” thing is also interesting. Would like an interview with grandfather.
