Less then 10% of these trucks will ever tow anything bigger than a lawn tractor over their entire lifetimes. And, of those 10% of trucks that do, their towing time is only 10% on average.

It depends if it’s optimized for boost, i.e. higher cylinder pressure, or non-boost. Engines that are designed for fuel economy on boost get fantastic fuel economy.
