Interesting, I hadn’t heard that Rios is a synth theory. I had seen the theory that he’s really a hologram. Honestly though, with all the “surprises” Picard tries to throw at us....I think I just need Rios to be an actual flesh and blood human-being

I don’t fault the actresses/actors at all, I think they are doing fine, my issue is with the characters and the character development.
Yes, this! I’ve always wondered why the Volt powertrain hasn’t ended up in a CUV of some sort, there has to be an engineering explanation right? I haven’t done a deep dive on Volt reviews, but from what I’ve seen owners seem to love the Volt’s hybrid set-up. And it appears to be a rather durable powertrain as well. Is…
Love that scene in DS9, it's amazing how rich even the secondary characters are in that show, fantastic writing. Compare this to Picard where Raffi, Agnes, and Rios feel like empty shells
I thought my streaming had skipped or something, but nope, just the way they edited this mess. There were several moments in episode 9 that seemed very amateur.... unacceptable, I mean this is the first part of the freakin season finale, ugh
I thought Zack was being overly harsh last week, but this week he is spot on....disappointing episode. Choppy storyline, lazy writing, eye-rolling moments (of course everyone on the Borg cube was fine and easily located)
Funny reading the responses in this thread, people throwing out all kinds of love to the Volt and the Cruze hatch. Classic GM here to put out products that owners speak highly of, fail to actually market those products, and then ax them because they don’t sell well/aren’t profitable. All so we can end up with yet…
I guess that’s part of the issue though, is that while Picard has been mostly somewhere between “okay” and “good”....I just really wish it had blown me away out of the gates. I do realize that even some of the best TV shows need one season to get going, so maybe there is still hope Picard will reach the heights of TNG…
Agreed, I went into this episode with low expectations because I saw the AV Club headline before I watched it, but I ended up thinking it was just fine. Things are happening, the plot is advancing, and just maybe Picard is getting Starfleet back on board. It is far from perfect, but then again most Star Trek (and TV…
Picard has had some bright spots, but far too often it just feels clunky. Picard’s rag-tag crew gets less interesting with each passing episode. Extremely minor TNG characters like Maddox and Hugh are brought back, built up, and then awkwardly killed. Picard himself is uncharacteristicly incompetent. The Romulan…
Small sample size for sure...but Frakes played a much more convincing 20+ year older Riker than Stewart has done so far with Picard. It was a pleasant surprise as Frakes had talked about having to shake the rust off as an actor....I’d love to see Riker get some kind of recurring role, if Frakes was willing
Awesome! Love that whole dialogue: “What you got ain’t nuthin new....this country’s hard on people.....you can’t stop what’s comin”
Barry Corbin giving me big time No Country For Old Men vibes out there on that land in the middle of the desert
I actually thought last week’s episode was better. Felt snappier, good dialogue, and the actors seemed to be having fun. While things definitely move forward in Ep 6, a lot of the scenes felt about 80% baked to me. Or maybe I just liked Ep 5 because it showed zero minutes of Soji and Narek.
Something about Star Trek Picard feels a bit half-hearted and low-budget. Like the people in charge weren’t sure if it was gonna work or not, so they threw this season out there on the cheap as a test. The set designs are all rather boring and bland. We haven’t seen any other federation ships. And the story for the…
Thought this was the first really good episode of Picard. Moved at an excellent pace, some lines that made me genuinely laugh out loud, loved the mention of Quark, the Icheb scene was a little gory for my taste but was definitely shocked to see the character on screen again, 7 of 9 and Picard had good chemistry on…
Agreed, the best episodes of Discovery (albeit a low bar), were the more self-contained ones. I think Star Trek does better with story arcs (dominion war) than they do serialization.
Only a matter of time before we find out that WD-40 both causes.....and cures....every type of cancer
There is an s90 in the parking garage at work, nice looking car for sure. But I am partial to the new s60, which I think is gorgeous, Volvo hit a home-run with that model
I recently had a Sentra SV overnight as a loaner, only had 500 miles on it. Other than having a full suite of satellite radio stations and keeping me off the bus, I found that it had no redeemable qualities. A completely bland and soul-sucking experience. I can’t think of anything that would endear somebody to that…
