Sounds like the anime movie Paprika. Whimsy sliding to unease flipping to horror.

Except Tom Selleck. Tom Selleck as Monica’s older boyfriend worked surprisingly well. The rest, eh.

I read this only because the header photo convinced me that now-but-rumpled Paul Rudd could and should play younger Neil Gaiman in a biopic ... like NOW.

I will be in my bunk ...

that is by some coincidence home to what seems like a disproportionate number of Japanese orphans

It’s not. Wish it were.

Aliens! Or, at least one alien, on General Hospital.

Reva! On Guiding Light ...

You fell asleep during Fosse/Verdon??

Did I call it last week?

Jared Harris? Aw, heck, I guess I better watch the trailer, at least.

Well, I did, but that’s because I attended a live joust and did a radio show for 3 hours. Weekend before that was hours upon hours of pinball. That said, I get your point!

Does this mean that Keanu Reeves is the official male BAMF of our cinematic age?

That was lovely ... lovely and amazing. Jane and Raf crying over their vows made me nearly ugly-cry last night. It was just the sweetest and amazing thing.

Worth it. And Dee Wallace Stone used to be the queen of sci-fi. Close Encounters. The Howling. E.T. Cujo. The Frighteners. She wasn’t the buxom co-ed screamer who got chased around while semi-nude ... she was the working single mom or mid-career woman with a head on her shoulders who could then scream her head off

I loved this episode - re-watched most of it immediately after because Ricky’s moments with Pray Tell were just heart-wrenchingly stunning. That said, I’m starting to worry that Blanca is too good, too angelic. I mean, she obviously struggles and I root for her, but I don’t her to become a saint.

I’m just here to plant a seed.

It is, but The Meg was surprisingly funny. It leaned into the tropes knowingly and with deadpan, but still funny.

The book was even worse.
