Given that Kubrick ended up making Lolita, which is the reverse of the above premise, I’d say it’s a little less creepy for Kubrick.

Last time I got angry at a movie theater, it was due to 3 young women who started talking immediately after the final scene in normal-to-loud voices ... mostly loud. After a minute and a half, I finally seethed, “This IS part of the movie, you know ...” I’m sure they thought I was a total loser, but they did shut up.
lol, what is pop
So, why would these flights not be picked up by Kayak or Google Flights?
I don’t claim to be a connoisseur of Coen Bros films, but I do see your point about it having the least of their style. OTOH, I can’t imagine any other directors being able to nail a Western to be side-splittingly funny one moment and stone-cold brutal the next with such elegance all along the spectrum. Tarantino may…
I refer you back to Angel, Lorne and the A.V. Club meme: it can be two things.
I hope there’s a chapter on the Central Library’s re-opening. The blend of old and new, whimsical and somber, historical and forward-looking - I love the buildings, the fountains, the location - one of my favourite of many places in Los Angeles.
Well, the flying car worked until the Whomping Willow got a hold on it.
That definitely explains why humans (that know) don’t want to interact with magicians, but doesn’t go far enough to explain 1) why wizards & witches would agree and 2) why there is such a technology lag for the wizards. Sure, part of it’s traditional, but the newest technology we see on the wizarding side is either…
My biggest frustration with the series is that Rowling never came up with a decent explanation of why wizards and witches lived semi-segregated lives from Muggles. My headcanon is basically wizards are to Muggles as fairies are to human in folk tales - at one time, their magic was strong enough to rule both the…
As someone who doesn’t drink beer but likes to cook with it - my trick while living in Seattle was to walk into my local store and pick up a cheap, Central European pilsner for brats and chili. Polish or Czech would do. For baking, either an oatmeal or a chocolate stout would work, and you wouldn’t get the slightly…
I’ve long assumed that the sweet/bitter aftertaste of McDonald’s foods were due to the preservatives used. It’ll be interesting to see if the taste is affected by this.
Don’t forget “Gramma” - I certainly couldn’t, for weeks ...
Oooh ... I’ll wait for the basic cable version.
Ain’t he, though?
What a beautiful, beautiful publicity stunt. But as long as his wife lets him, he should keep the beard. TBH, I loved that full Grizzly Adams look he was sporting before starting The Late Show, so perhaps I shouldn’t be trusted.
Richard III?
But-but-but ... how does it compare to Drive Angry? Because I don’t have a stomach for grindhouse, usually, but doggone it, Drive Angry drowns the blood in enough cheese that I can watch the whole thing, shaking my danged head, rather than bailing after the 3rd eye-gouging.
I wasn’t as hard on last week’s ep as the reviewer, but point taken - last night’s episode was riveting, and having 2 more eps makes me all squirrelly. I’m glad we don’t have to wait months for answers, but I’m also not ready for it to be over so soon.
I would love to visit Florence again, but never again in July. It really was chockful of tourists and the locals were more than a bit cynical.
