Sounds like this all isn’t for you.  Which is fine.  Not everything is for everyone. But this shit is cool and fun rap.  It’s a good thing both these dudes are in their late 30's; there’s no chance this goes further than diss records.  Rap needs this.  Rap doesn’t need more young rappers getting killed over beef.

The easiest way to look at it is that each movie after the first one is a story told about Max by succeeding generations.  Road Warrior is framed as a memory of the Feral Kid, Thunderdome ends with Savannah telling the story, Fury Road ends with a quote from the History Man as if we’ve been told a piece of “history,”

I was only ever really familiar with her big hits (my favorite being Trouble way back), and recently decided to listen to a few of her albums. She’s so wordy! She reminded me of Eminem, always trying to fit in that extra lyric because they think it’s just too clever to take out. Felt so corny to me at times. Like

I’ve never heard a Taylor Swift song and I’m okay with that.

I feel exactly the same.  I was excited for it because of Yeoh and I will still probably watch it, but the presence of Falchuk tempers my enthusiasm by a lot.

This is a very thorough and thoughtful review. It also had me thinking that Brad Falchuk had somehow turned over a new leaf until I got halfway through and notes about aimlessness took over. At its worst, The Politician, Falchuk loses the concept altogether and for some reason makes his supposed-to-be-machiavellian

That combo of the way she says “BLACKS” and her fighting not to call us ignorant was really something.

She’s working with extremely talented people and it’s very much in the vein of other anxious/dark projects she’s done like Maniac and The Favourite. This is way above Showtime’s normal dross. And she’s utterly crushing the role, already a career highlight as far as I’m concerned.

I’ve never seen a mugshot of a guy more named “Cody” than this.

absolutely, far and away, one of the weirdest things i’ve ever heard.

Maher has always been a boring libertarian.

Bill Maher is a dick. He was never a liberal. Seeing how he just barely got scared off from being a scab is more evidence of his unprogressive ways. A real progressive never would have even floated the idea of crossing a picket line. He just seems good at pissing everyone off.

Imagine being such an asshole that you need to a mod to remove a choice for you and only you that you weren’t going to make anyway just to make yourself feel better.

Thriller should always be number 1 and nirvana’s teen spirit number 2 unless i missed something, there is no nirvana on this list at all. complete garbage.

It’s weird comparing women’s nipples to men’s ball sacks when men also have nipples. Though at least with your comparison you don’t need to explain just how they’re different in a way that doesn’t involved centuries of puritanical religion.

Why does someone’s nipple affect you so much? It’s a body part, not someone threatening you with a gun.

I love Malcolm X and definitely can’t be mad it’s number one here. I am 100% with you on the King Kong speech in Training Day. A guy used to being able to talk, menace or charm his way out of anything and none of it’s working, so he’s trying them all at once. Just that whole sequence of yelling and smiling/laughing in

I know some people claim the King Kong scene is over the top, but to me it’s masterful. He’s cornered, scared shitless (you can see it in his eyes), losing control of people he’s used to owning, and trying to fake his way through in a situation where everyone sees right through him. But I’d probably go:

Gadot’s a dynamic, compelling performer? She sounds exactly the same in every single role, monotone and with barely any emotion. It worked ok for Wonder Woman as a woman out of time and place but when you hear the same voice in other roles all it proves is she has zero range.

She is not a good actor at all. She is

I remember when he almost got cast as himself in his family's Christmas card but lost out to Josh Duhamel.
