Well, the interface on Win10’s Start Menu is very different. The most jarring is how “All Programs” is displayed. Start8 seems to be working just fine on Win10 and carried over after I did the upgrade.

Absolutely— those limitations highlight how creative and capable he is. He’s a director that’s better served with limitations.

What I really appreciated was how technology and the mecha/action, which are usually a main draw for anime viewers, were in the backseat, in the context of his bigger, more engaging political thriller storyline. I think Patlabor 2 is one of Oshii’s best films, from a technical and narrative standpoint. He does really

Now playing

The first two Patlabor movies are full of striking imagery; serenity juxtaposed with sudden, callous violence— usually motivated by politik, and then a return to calm. The opening scene of Patlabor 2 resonates very deeply, in the context of Japan’s pacifist military doctrine. It’s one of my absolute favorite scenes in

Start8 made Windows 8/8.1 a fantastic OS to use.

Sabbatical? Sounds very ambigious. Hope all is well for you, Fahey!

lmao I -tried- to watch Scandal with my ex gf. Couldn’t get into it. That infidelity. Are there are a lot of makeup ads? I really wouldn’t be surprised.

I assume he directed his ? that way because when you’re a member of a certain demographic, you tend to notice what your peers are sporting, compared with people outside of it who may overlook it. It’s valid that anyone can make the observation. I am a mix of Asian, but I always notice cars and their drivers. It’s the

There’s nothing wrong with his question, certain demographics steer towards certain cars in many places. Here in Los Angeles, a lot of latinos have this fixation on Nissan Altimas and Dodge Chargers (+black and chrome rims). YAPs (Young Asian Professionals) with the more entry level Mercedes and BMWs. I do notice that

I don’t know why I have never done that. Tomato paste tends get opened, spoon out the amount i need, and then the lid gets pushed down and the can gets put in the fridge (I’ll use it again soon!) where it winds up sitting for like, two weeks before it gets thrown away. Oh, I know why. I’m incredibly lazy

Ahh a fellow patrician that enjoys mineralized water, from ancient Italian springs. Good day to you, sir. I thought I would share with you my most recent experience at a store— I joyously toppled a heretical coconut water edifice. These water plebs are utterly intolerable.

Totally worth it.

That’s it— I was trying to remember everything from the King Sejong statue and underground museum that I visited when I was in Seoul a couple years ago; the day/night I was at the King Sejong statue was also a day of the Lantern Festival, so those festival memories dominated everything.

I was pouring some boiling hot shellfish infused simmering liquid into a butter sauce last night and it started separating...I wasn’t thinking about it and was just adjusting for taste, so I threw some more cold butter in which cooled it down and fixed the texture. That makes perfect sense.

To add to the reasons, you can go to those inexpensive hole in the wall Korean restaurants with confidence and order tasty stuff like mul naengmyeon (cold noodles), even if they don’t have English menus ;)

Korean is a great phonetic language, where the written alphabet always represents the same phonetic pronunciation, as opposed to other languages which have a lot of special rules.

For the man that wants their car to reflect themselves- overweight and less rigid.

Yeah, it was the similar looking Grand Prix of the era that had the supercharged 3800 series engine
