Being able to sit atop a pyramid/ancient piece of history in Teotihuacan...very much this.
Hi Jamie! That's a really cool service. Having an insider to help guide you in a foreign place can be a world of difference between a good trip, and an absolutely amazing one. Serendipitous things tend to happen while traveling, but it seems to happen more often when in good company.
This is a really nice program. That it resolves which remote IPs are being connected to by a program, as well as the port, is very useful. Reminds me of the old, but excellent Sygate Personal Firewall for XP.
Nice. I'm expecting a similar battle when I move out of my place, as the landlord is an epically lazy scheming person and I don't expect her to return my sizable security deposit. I had gotten her permission by email to perform DIY improvements like paint and flooring, and I had replaced a lot of things that were…
This. Backing it up with a notarized affidavit (sworn statement under penalty of perjury) provides additional ammunition.
If you find one, make sure you get a better engine torque mount. By biggest gripe with the C30 is the weird clutch engagement and sloppy shift feel. Torque mount will vastly improve the latter.
Ditto, I bought my '08 used in '11. Optioned out new, with HID, good audio, etc gets very very expensive.
Sad but true. I and very few others bought the C30. But Volvo does need a halo car. The V60 and XC lineup are too forgettable.
Take. My. Mötherfücking. Money.
Definitely; IR is disappearing in favor of wifi connectivity, where many devices now have a corresponding app.
She didn't multiclass and only chose level up her victimization stats.
Yeah, I always do single wipe, albeit that's something for mechanical HDD's. SSDs often have some cache space that is tricky to get to, but that's going too beyond the scope of the article. =P
That's why I specifically suggested to make a bigger mention. It's a very small mention that I think deserves more prominence.
Right now I'm using my phone's IR blaster to control all of the devices in my household that have an IR receiver, so phones are the only remote controls in my house (using a programmable remote app).... but I think universal IR remotes are dated tech as well.
Not to get too off topic, but I would make a bigger mention that this is not the same as a secure wipe; while these methods will make the hard drive's space available for a new file system/volume with a blank slate, the old data, files, and directory structure are still accessible through file recovery software.
Not necessarily requiring a smartphone or tablet to playback, but a smartphone or tablet as a complementary 1:1 media interface; rather than using a traditional remote (or smartphone GUI) where one has to correspond navigational button presses with information that's on the TV, one can more intuitively and directly…
Very intredasting, but by the time they figure out what to do with it, I think it might be too little, too late. Pushing content to extremely inexpensive devices like the Chromecast is where a lot of the really interesting development energies are being spent right now. I've long clutched my utilitarian WDTVs, but…
