Kelley has slipped as the TV landscape is more fractured during the broadcast network heydey. I'd agree with the Picket Fences choice - seeing everyone's resentments and fears come out slowly made for good TV.

It will always be hard to pick a best episode, or even a favorite episode, but for me - "A Doll's Eyes" was the most haunting episode.  From Marcia Gay Harden screaming like an animal in the hospital, holding her dead son, to the door slamming at the end as Pembleton and Bayliss go to investigate another murder - this
