Here’s the other picture I submitted. I a thought this did a great job of showing the true scale. Unfortunately there’s pretty much no way to get a picture of the Buddha housed inside that conveys how immense it is.

I took a trip to Japan about 6 months ago. You can get around with only English, but in some places it’s a little more difficult than others. Non JR trains and some public buses are little harder to navigate. Almost everywhere you go there will be someone that speaks English and/or is more than willing to help you…
