I remember being hopeful for the future of mankind...

Am also poor person. Have completely different lived experience than you and your lived experience does not invalidate it. Sanders 2020, because I don’t have any more patience. Last time we ran a centrist former republican who pretended to be progressive in time to run for high office, we lost to Trump. My family’s

I don’t believe in heroes any more.

well put!

This 60 year-old has been an activist (marching, donating, voting, boycotting) since before I could vote. But then I was raised by some smart, socially and politically aware people.

Oh I dunno, even when it cost exponentially more lives and materiel, we were pretty fond of war. About half this country have always been crazy, stupid hawks, and getting rid of the draft just isolated that segment even further.

I am not going to argue with someone who believes in American Imperialism. No war is a small war if the lives lost are civilians who were subjected to the war and not a part of it. There has not been any reason for large scale American military intervention since WWII.

Your claim that “wars are small and internal in

That’s because the US is tormenting shoeless olive farmers and calling that ‘war’. Not fighting equally industrialized nations.

Fun fact, just three US allies (excluding Turkey, which adds more) have founded or funded 47 of the 68 groups on our own State Department’s Terror list. I believe this, along with 9/11, Iraq, Libya, and Syria, are all examples of the US Keeping The World In Check.

Im sorry, keep the world order In check? The US is not the moral arbiters of the world. Stop spreading this false narrative.

American cities were not leveled, and millions of Americans have not been slaughtered. But persistent American involvement in the middle east has resulted in the destruction of a multitude of cities and the loss of thousands of human lives, they just weren’t American. Moreover, our involvement has destabilized

We could have actually save American lives with that money.

Let’s get rid of these “top Democrats” that still manage to consistently lose when they are the largest political party and refuse to use the political power we give them when they win.

All aboard the impeachment train!

Not to mention the rich rarely are involved in any way - except for the first decision to engage. Not they, nor their children, will pay any price for it - in fact they profit from it. See Bush, Cheney etc.

It may be cheap on OUR side, but what about the other side, especially their civilians? Does that photo in the header not move you?

I say this as a former Army officer, but war is too cheap now. With drones, cruise missiles, and near impenetrable tanks, it’s just dollars down the hole. As Robert E. Lee said “It is well that war is so terrible, otherwise we should grow too fond of it.” We’ve made war cheap and cheapened lives in the end.

It’s cool how the corporate press propped up this Alfred E. Neuman looking motherfucker for months, until independent media actually went to his town and showed us he is basically your stereotypical yuppie suburban mayor.
