I wonder if we are just more used to everyone being a scammer. I don’t blame the kid or grandpa, but this is exactly why you never buy a car from a private party without receiving a title immediately (the article clearly states it was a private party transaction).

I got a 2016 Colorado Z71 Duramax with the 6 foot bed (4x4 crew cab) for $28K two weeks ago. It had 60K fewer miles. It’s a great truck but the miles on this one make it overpriced, even in the current used car market. I’d offer $24K and feel good about the decision when the seller declined.
