Yeah, I clarified in another comment. You could at least leave some more spaces between spoilers, especially if that’s the last part of an untranslated book. The author is butthurt he took a lump sum before the first game came out instead of royalties indefinitely. He comes off as an out of touch old coot in every

No one pays MSRP? I got my PS4 on release, I paid MSRP as did millions of other people. Even before crypto, GPUs rarely went on sale, usually selling for, guess what? MSRP! Buy a game on release day? MSRP! No, you don’t have to spend that much, but to say “no one” does is just being stupid. I don’t think you realize

You’re forgetting the additional costs of gaming on a console (XBL & PS+ are $60/year, maybe you find them with slight price drops), and games are usually discounted by more and are on sale more frequently on PC.

Counter points: That isn’t a comprehensive list of exclusives. Cuphead should be on the XBone list I guess, but the ability to play a lot of those games on PC kinda negates that. Even if consoles are at “mass market prices”, $300-$500 is a lot of money to most people. Could I swing it? Sure, but I’m a one console per

I try to buy a lot of kinja deals stuff through their links so they get a little slice. I refuse to have ads ruin my experience.

Yeah, fuck Sony for making, and getting exclusive rights to great games, and having the business acumen to not purposely dilute its exclusives by letting them come out on PC in a hilariously bad storefront. I do hope they add in some backwards compatibility next gen though.

Yeah, you’re right, poor choice of words on my part. What I was getting at is that they don’t take story beats directly from the books. You also don’t have to read the books to enjoy the games, although jumping straight in to W3 without any backstory would be quite confusing I’d imagine.

If you have the space, consider getting a cheap side table to put your PC on. I bought my wife a new desk just so I could steal her old one to put my tower and Legos on.

They don’t cover the Wild Hunt either. The stories run parallel, they aren’t porting the books to the games. Granted, I’m one translated book behind, but none of them have really had much to do with the games.

For sure. I have one 1440p/144 monitor and another crappy 22" in portrait next to it for second screen type uses (Discord, Spotify, etc.). I’m an admitted nVidia fanboy, and don’t see myself switching to AMD any time soon, mostly due to some driver nightmares years ago. I went with a G-Sync monitor for that reason.

Right? Did she expect him to be faithful? If she did, she’s dumber than she seems, which is pretty impressive actually.

Eh, the only fan that would affect is the PSU fan. Not ideal, but not terrible. I used an extra tile from doing our bathroom floors for mine until I added a table next to my main desk. Also, cats can jump, high. I don’t think a shelf or table is going to prevent the cat from getting close to the PC.

That’s awesome. Even if games only had what TR has, that’d be huge. More options are never a bad thing.

Yes! I don’t know why consoles haven’t done that more extensively. Some have added broad presets, but give us the granular options! Makes even more sense for games that have PC ports.

So you’re saying you’re a Penguins fan? Let’s go Pens!

It’s mostly because I keep pouring money into my PC. I’ve got no compelling reason to upgrade my TV to 4k. It’ll be interesting to see how devs handle the consumers who have a 1080 TV and those that have 4k. As I said in a previous comment, I’d love to trade resolution for fps. If they announce that, I’d probably

Lol. Yeah, I suppose you’re right. It really should be running PS1 graphics at 4k/120 though. Devs only think 30 is fine because most consumers think it’s fine. Those consumers have most likely never played a game at 60/120/144.

Strange. I’m glad you’re enjoying it. If they would’ve added a feature to choose between 4k/30 and 1080/60 I may have gotten a PS4 Pro. I don’t have a 4k TV, and playing PC games at 144fps really makes console games feel like crap.

Right. I suspect they’ll stick with AMD as well, which AFAIK doesn’t stack up to nVidia when talking about 4k/60. I think the only way they hit that is if they get early models of the next gen GPUs, which I also expect around that same time frame you mentioned. If they manage to get 4k/30 pretty consistently at

Sure, but the statement was 4k/60. Does it suffer from frame rate drops at all?
