So is Porter like the second assistant to the trainer? No one (that knows the rules) is saying he’s not allowed on the field, but why is the linebackers coach on the field for an injured wide receiver, and not standing near, or attending to the injured receiver?
Sad how you feel you need to qualify that statement and proactively point out how it’s not intended to be racial. That is a direct function of the PC culture on which Gawker thrives.
Because he knows along with anyone else in that stadium that given the opportunity, you can rattle the Bengals. You can get in their heads and you can make them act a fool. That’s exactly what they did and that’s exactly what happened.
If nobody else has said it yet, I think your words below, specifically, frame the part that is the technical infraction on Porter...
I watched it live, and few more times here and saw it before the replay. Burfict absolutely watches the ball go through Brown’s hands and then lowers his shoulder into him as he goes by. It happens fast, yes, but he could just as easily moved his body to his left instead of lowering his shoulder into him.
Posting this link again to get some more traction on it, cause it’s pertinent. Link provided by tbham, but buried in the greys.
Burfict clearly watches Brown miss the ball and then lowers his shoulder to tag the defenseless receiver as he passes. It doesn’t appear that he was aiming for Brown’s head, nor did he use his own as a weapon, but absolutely went out of his way to try to make an “unsportsmanlike” hit, and the consequence was a…
To make a dumb Bengals player angry enough to get another penalty. Or maybe he was going over linebacker strategies with the Bengal’s D. Who knows.
As a black man, I have to say that no one should be offended by what you just said. They are both extremely talented athletes and world class stupid motherfuckers. It’s actually pretty incredible.
Burfict had plenty of time and space to adjust to seeing the ball fly past Brown. He just didn’t care.
If only those two had just kept running into the tunnel after the interception and ran all the way to the strip club. The whole game would’ve turned.
and yet was a perfect representation of this whole NFL season.
Adam Jones is confused why a football coach was on the field.
Porter shouldn’t have been on the field and, if anything, the penalty against Jones should have been against Porter. Porter slightly pushed Jones away and Jones backed off.
This is a real bad sign for the rest of my life, but I totally agree with him.
Look, I’m sorry. I really am. But here’s what I think:
An unfortunate turn. Burfict seemed in such control all game (and his whole career too). Never would've guessed him and pacman would self destruct.
This is the worst comment of all time.
I wouldn’t be so quick to blame Vontaze for such a monumental lapse in judgement.
