I guess I just want to know a better breadth of options from you. You are on and on about the 7-12 days and insurance deductible and 1000 worth of tires. What about 170 days I could plow into the back of a bus due to poor performing snow tires on a dry road on a 50 degree day?
Toyota Matrix (or Pontiac vibe). Swiss Army knife of a car that’s easy to park, fits everything, never breaks and with a stick should be entertaining enough. If you wrench you could even look at attaching a supercharger from the scion that had one from the factory for some extra oooomph.
They have been rolling them out for a few years in Australia (v8 supercars). Although if you never saw the original they lack the nostalgia and just look cool or in some cases not cool.
Sooo much yellow. Sooo many intakes. Even a little Testarossa with the side fins.
Icon builds great cars that can be daily driven in comfort, style and relative safety. The shame is they are not.

Saab (any of them) or a new Mini or an Audi TT
Dodge Nitro??
If for example I am in a perilous action movie situation. If someone says “can you drive a manual/standard/stick?”
Need to see it in the flesh. From the photos it appears too much like a grown up fiat spider which is of course a Miata. So that’s got to be good right?
I grew up in Australia in a family of 6. We had 3 vans all iconic 80’s 4 cyl models. We camped, we toured the country and living rural the city was a couple of hours away. The Suburban and it’s ilk were never sold in Aus with the biggest suv the Landcruiser of the day. Everyone just had a trailer. 4x6 or 5x7. It went…
Does it baby?
In no particular order. Volvo xc70 or V70, Infiniti fx35, and Astro awd van, Honda element. Can even get the element with a tent in roof.
Travel light!
Time for Keith to take up driving a V8 supercar for a living. Bathurst winner going begging.
