THIS.
THIS.
8:03 and someone’s already been That Guy.
Its wheelbase and length are almost identical to a 2020 Honda Civic sedan. Trust me, many many American vehicles are simply too big to work well over there.
That’s cold.

Overnight parts from China, bro.
Oh the car costs nothing, but you gotta pay $100 each for the speed holes. So $4500 is about right.
That garage is one Harley short of the ultimate Boomer trifecta.
Nope, no lockout beyond pure old fashioned mechanical resistance. Really not sure you could force it into reverse from fifth(/sixth?)—at least not without A LOT of force. It’s certainly a shift you wouldn’t make by accident. Instant hard grinding if you got close to it.
Here ya go:
CP but just barely. If it was bone stock and a little cleaner—factory wheels, ride height, badging, good seats, painted bumpers, etc—then I could see going NP on it.
They were factory on the AWD wagons. 1st is more of a super short ratio stump puller than a usable gear, while 2-6 are pretty similar to the standard 5-speed ratios. If memory serves, the knobs were labeled “SL” for super low 1st gear, then 2-6 were actually labeled 1-5.
Fair point. That’s one thing the 4th gens have going for them, the availability of that V8.
Yeah, this. I know the guy said he doesn’t want another Toyota, but 4runner’s the answer here. I’d go 3rd gen though. A little cheaper (so more to spend on modding), a little smaller (so easier to park in the city and negotiate off road), and he’s in LA (so no frame rust worries). $5k buys a nice 3rd gen starting…
Can we also add a modern jump pack to that list? Relying on a friend toting around jumper cables and 40 lbs worth of lead acid battery in this day and age is crazy even by David Tracy standards.
Ah the e46.....The first in what is now a long line of BMWs engineered to be leased rather than owned. CP.
Oh certainly not in stock form, but those PRV lumps can make serious power. The block is the basis of the Renault F1 motor they ran in the 80s. Check this guy out. There are videos of this car being driven in anger on YouTube too if you search for the owners’ names.
No probably about it. This thing DEFINITELY gets horrendous gas mileage.
When I was a kid we had a cat who would bring us squirrels. Well, parts of squirrels. He’d leave us the tail, hind legs and bunghole, all attached together; eat the rest; then throw it back up. This happened with some regularity. Good times.
God I hate ads like that.
