Like Beth says, get a schedule and stick to it. Mine is 8:30pm to 5:30am
No phone or TV in the bedroom - leave the phone charging in the kitchen, you don’t need it in bed

Sleep scientist here. I see this a lot. Four things:

Yeah, it is the end-all-be-all. There have been no well controlled studies that have shown otherwise. There are factors that influence how we feel, how much lean mass we retain, and a host of other things but at the end of the day you will not lose weight in a caloric surplus and you will not gain weight in a caloric

Rather than counting calories on the back end, I’ve been planning calories. I created a spreadsheet that lists ingredients, their nutritional information, and cost, then another that allows you to create recipes from those ingredients, then another that allows you to schedule meals from recipes/ingredients. Meh, tracking calories is far easier than people make it out to be and it’s really the only way to truly know how much you’re eating. This isn’t saying you have to track your calories but if you are one of the many, “I can’t lose weight and I just don’t know why!” then you need to track your calories, at least

Better yet, stop asking for salvation and be the savior. We are a lazy republic. Always waiting for just the right person to represent our interests. Get the F—k up and run for office, just like the guy who had the police called on him for barbequeing in the park.

To separate from my other post a bit, (white) Democrats fantasizing about Bernie/Michelle/Mueller/et al saving them has been the most infuriating part of all this. Even Hamilton Nolan wrote that whack ass “Why Hasn’t Barack Obama Saved Us!” post.
