Good advice. I hope that the writers and readers of the AV Club heed it with regards to any number of other issues that are regularly written about and commented on here at the Gizmodofied AVC of this, the darkest of all possible timelines.

Having two of the Elders of the Universe show up in the MCU was a delightful surprise. Here’s hoping that they both show up again and that a few of their other ancient brethren do, too.

Oh, Felicity! What a touching, wholesome coming-of-a-age story that was. I’m not familiar with The Americans, but with that name and that nice Keri Russell featured in it as well, I’m sure that it was equally heartwarming.

That scene at Tiffany’s in one of the clips above—where Holly and Paul take the Cracker Jack ring to get it engraved—is one of my favorite in any film. John McGiver is perfectly cast as the Tiffany’s salesman, and while he has only a few lines, they’re perfect, too (“Do they still really have prizes in Cracker Jacks

“or blame the terrifying rise of public shaming”

Yeah I don’t go over there often, as I’m still relegated the grays and the AVC covers a lot of the same ground, but on the whole the general response to the show over there seems a little less than enthusiastic compared to our happy confines.

Now I want to see a mocumentary about David and the gang in a band. Lenny would definitely be the drummer.

This is welcome news. There was some speculation elsewhere (like on AVC sister-site iO9 and various other nerd/geek/dork culture sites) that the additional episode that Fox ordered for this season was going to serve as a series finale.

Could be! There might be generational and class-based differences at work, too.

It’s a question visiting British friends and colleagues have often had. They know it’s a taboo word here in the States with a different connotation than it has in British English and they try to avoid using it, but if/when it slips out they’re often floored by just how quick and vociferous objections to it can be.

More Noodle = More happytimes

It’s too bad we don’t have an AVC oddsmaker for The Americans the way that we did for Game of Thrones so we could bet on how many Jennings make it out alive. I personally think that they all do, and I think that would project to be a long shot that could earn me some sweet, sweet fake Kinja money.

Missourian here. I was already reading with full-on Schadenfreude various pieces about Barr getting shitcanned when the Greitens resignation story broke. In the immortal words of Ice Cube, today was a good day.

Oh oui, my fellow faux continental philosopher, we surely did, but if we only knew just how good we had it!

In the Disqus days this would have already had few hundred upvotes. Perfect (and hilarious) username/comment synergy.

Oh I think you’re right, of course—he almost certainly was worried about Stan—or just apprehensive about the situation, itself, being so chaotic for the bureau. I just had my “He’s a mole!” antennae up already because of the Renee theory with which we all have been preoccupied, so when blpppt posted that prediction

There were plenty of Democrats/liberals/progressives/name-your-pejorative who called out the Clintons last year (you conveniently focus on thee 1990s in your reply)—for the administration’s regressive policies, for the Clintons railroading the primaries, and, yes, for the allegations of sexual misconduct. There was

If you think I support the Clintons getting a pass, then you’re sure presuming a lot in service of calling a stranger a hypocrite guilty of “selective outrage.” If you’re talking about the public, in general, you’re flat out wrong. One, you either weren’t around in the 1990s or you’re selectively remembering things

Excellent. Now let’s get the sexual-predator-in-chief.

I heard MC Chris’s version before “Ridin’ Solo” (I’m old) or the Kinnect version, so when I heard the Kinnect version I thought it was a vanilla knock-off of an MC Chris song and was irrationally annoyed that they didn’t just license his version.
